1000 Point universal list.

Hi fellow Tyrants! At my local gaming club we have played with 1000 points battles lately, last monday we tried out triumph & treachery. Worked out great for me, i managed to win, yesterday i played against dark elves in 3 diffrent scenarios. won 1 and lost 2. In the first battle my friend choose to flee with his doomfire warlocs, and i ran them down. the rest was a easy mop up. Excpecially fun when my mournfangs killed about 23 executioners in 1 round of combat^^ the other 2 games i was plagued by the warlocs and poor positioning of my firebelly so i could not target the warlocs with spells most of the time, and i also choose to fire my leadbeaclhers on the executioners.
Hindsight is a nice thing lol.. my mournfang failed 3-4 charges against the warlocs and dident do a single usefull thing the last game.
But to my armylist, all feedbacks are welcome :)

Bruiser BSB with HA,GW, the other trickster shard and dragonbane gem.
Firebelly, lvl 2, extra handweapon, RRR. Both chars with the IG'f ofc.

6 ironguts with bellower and standard.
3 Leadbelchers
3 Mournfangs with HA,IF, bellower and standard with the standard discipline.

I did mess around with a list when i came home, i removed the magic items on my chars and added an extra Leadbelcher, but not sure..
First, seems to me you're 4 points over the limit. Not sure where you want to shave those off.

Secondly, I'm not 100% convinced you need a BSB at that point limit. On the one hand, you have quite few units so having just one flee/panic might really put you at a disadvantage. On the other hand, having a higher LD on your General (assuming you'd run a Bruiser general - remember that your BSB can't be your General!) and extra points all around might make up for it.

Regardless, put the Standard of Discipline on your Guts, going from a 7 to an 8 for Inspiring Presence makes quite the difference (from 58.33% to 72.22% chance), even better if you go with a Bruiser general. If you have extra points, go for Gleaming on the Mournfangs so you don't lose them as readily.

The RRR on a Firebelly at that point level is really worth it, make your opponent waste those dispel dice or suffer the consequences! Not sure about your BSB set-up, has TOTS made much of a difference in these games?

Cheers,
H
Hi! and thank you for the response :)

I saw that i had written dragonhelm instead of dragonbane gem, so that should fix the points.
I must say that my BSB have done very well both in combat and a quite a few times when i needed to fast reform, that 2'end roll on leadership saved me from a flank charge. My firebelly is the genral, but as i have understood it, my Ironguts can use their own leadership of 8 instead of the firebelly's 7. And thats why i gave my mournfangs the standard of discipline,as they will most times operate outside the 12" of inspiring presence.
You are right, the RRR are awesome, but i think its because my horrible rolling on the 2 last games that i started to doubt it.

Like my last game, my friend had 10 doomfire warlocs, 20'ish witch elves, 23'ish exectuioners with BSB in and the general with a lance on pegasus.

i had my mournfangs on my far left, followed by my leadbelchers and then the gutstar with both chars.
His doomfire's kept fleeing from my MF's and casting on my LB's. His general charged into my gutstars right flank and managed to survive long enough to let the two other units charge in before he was finished of.
So even tho i won the combat he made his leadership test and i got wiped out in the next combat phase. then my MF's got charged from 3 directions, killed a few puny elves but the sheer weight of attacks did them in.

So i guess the mistake i did was not leting my MF's go ape in the witch elves or exectioners instead and let my gutstar and leadbelchers(who i kept shooting at exectioners with) shot and cast the warlocs do death..
Was fun anyway ofc :) even tho i made some horrible dice rolls most of the 2 last games. like failing to get a cast value of 18 on 5(was maybe even 6 dices) dices.
