First Leadbelcher of the Slapstick Tribe

original thread ↗

I painted my first Leadbelcher Dodle Boomguts this afternoon, along with his favourite Gnoblar, Blowemup. I experimented with a new paint scheme for him, and I decided to try more of a red leathery look for his trousers, and I wore down the areas that would be pulled the most at when he walks (i.e. his knees and hips). I also did a similar thing with the boots, and I am happy with how they turned out. They make him look a bit more steampunky than my other ogres, which is quite appropriate for him.

The cannon is quite a dark metallic colour, which is more accurate to real cannons than the brightly-coloured ones Games Workshop uses in the box art.

I got the soot ideas from WarbossTae at http://warbosstae.blogspot.ch/. I definitely suggest you check out his tutorials if you need help with something, or look at his other stuff if you are simply looking for inspiration.

I still need to base it. Please tell me if you think there is anything I could improve on, and generally if I am just on the right track, as I am still very new to wargaming blogs. This is the 2nd blog post I have made related to any wargaming. I will be posting up more pictures soon.
