Lord 0pts

original thread ↗

Random idea for a 0pts lord

so the lord would be named GOD, you could only take one and he'd have 0 for all stats and no abilities, but you could add 1 to each stat for some number of points, add any ability, give any mount, any base size, smaller is more points, basically a completely comestible lord who can take any equipment any other unit in the army book has, any number of any magic items, as many magic had weapons, armors, and shields as he wants. In the Ogres he'd be called THE MAW, but in some other book he'd have a different name of a different deity, any ideas???
I remember a couple of years back when White Dwarf used to do little baselines like these for Scenarios.
I have one here, where an Empire town, 'famed for it's acolytic magi and study of the cosmos beyond' is attacked by a 'roaving herd of fury bridled Beastmen, on the scent for man-flesh'.
The idea, was that, as the Empire player, you had 2d6x100 points to make an army. Your General must be a Heavens wizard of some kind, and your Special may be no more than your core. However, the grand wizard here is the Magus Prime of the college, and so cand draw forth Magi Adepts to fight with you.

They cost 8 points per model base, had a 'basic human' profile:
M. Ws. Bs. S. T. W. I. A. Ld
5    2.   2.  3. 3.  1. 3. 1. 5

Now, these Magi were effectively Pink Horrors in style, except that no matter what, they were a unit of Lv.1 wizards that counted as 1 wizard for casting. But, if that meagre statline, no save of any kind, and no actual equipment was lacklustre to you, you could buy more!
Those who wanted Light Armour would be 3 points more.
Those who wanted Hand Weapons were 1 points more.
Those who wanted to be Trained in Weapon Skill had +1 WS but costed 3 more.
Same for Ranged Training (although the pistol was 8 points per model)

Most of the time this unit sucked. Royally. Rolling Wind Blast as their spell. But it was fun to play against Beastmen who had to skirmish when in the town.
