Playing around with Golgfag

Hello all, been playing some games with Skrag lately, its been going about as well as i thought, some wins some big losses. But it got me thinking about the other mildly viable special character in our book. Seems to me to be some potential in the maneater.

So here is the concept, chucking 2 units of maneaters in the opponents face turn 1 backed up by an old school Gut horde and a beastmaster with Crown of Command. The hope is to have 2 stubborn units on the board with lvl 1 butcher taking spinemarrow for a full stubborn on demand army. Probably a horrible idea betting someone out there has tried it and can tell me all about it, but I'm keen to give it a crack one day and it looks like something people out there (in my meta at least) would shit themselves over..

So have a geez as always all feedback welcome, got 50points to sink somewhere also.

Well first off i think the gleaming pennant should be on the scouting maneaters

Added it in Minigiant. Thought about chucking the Dragonhide on golgfags unit, what do you think?

First off i love the concept, i have played around with this a little myself but could never settle on a list i like. Great fun though

This unit is too large in my opinion. With effectively three hammer units you need them to be placed perfectly. I would reduce numbers here and take 10 Man Gnoblar drops or Ogre Darts. Secondly you want to be fast look at Banner of swiftness. If you are going alternate Ogres might as well go all the way, right

Hah didn't even notice i put the pennant on both. Worried about taking the Banner of Disc off the Ironguts, LD8 armies just look to susceptible to falling apart but i suppose this is a crazy army so why not.

Revised and looking more well rounded, got more points to play with now as well.

After sitting on this concept for a week or so, I've revised the list to just make it a full push army, dropped the beasts magic to get rid of the need to bring the butcher, and with those points I've taken 2 units of 2 mournfang, after thinking about how easily the maneaters can be picked off and isolated i realised i need some support units that are fast enough to get there in time.
I am super stoked to make and play this army soon, as nutty as it may sound i love this idea.
The only parts that I'm not really set on is the gear on the Slaughtermaster, as taking Fencers and Glittering is taking away one of the best possible combo's for Golgfag, any suggestions on a decent build for him that still has a magic weapon would be awesome (as i think i need atleast 1 to combat ethereal).

Maybe squeeze the points for Armour of Destiny somehow.
The difference between 5+ and 4+ ward is huge.

IF you are just running the Lv4 SM as your Maw caster, consider dropping the crown of command and just rely on your stubborn spell.  Its a gamble as magic is no sure thing, but it gives you points if that's what you need

I'm planning to drop the crown as i dropped my scroll when i dropped the butcher, so ill have another 10 points to play with.
