Hello!
I plan on playing a game or two of Border Patrol soon-ish, we have made some rules for it:
-No lords
-Heroes maximum 25%
-Number 6 spells of any lore don't work
-Max 25 points of magic items on a single character
-Unit max. point cost 300
-Monstrous Infantry may have 6 models at most (not counting characters)
-No duplicate specials or rares
That's most of the limitations that affect Ogres.
So I had something like this in mind:
Butcher (General) 155 points
- Level 2 Wizard
- Opal Amulet
- Ironcurse Icon
Bruiser 145 points
- BSB
- Heavy armour & Enchanted Shield
- Ogre Pistol (Had some extra points)
4 Ironguts 202 points
- Bellower, Standard, Gut Lord
6 Ogres 212
- Ironfists
- Bellower and Standard
4 Leadbelchers 182
- Bellower
Sabretusk
4 Maneaters 282 points
- Heavy armour
- Bellower, Standard
- Standard of Discipline
- 2x Additional hand weapon (Bellower and standard, as they will be in the front rank)
- 2x Great weapons (For 2 R&F models in the back rank)
- Look-out Gnoblar
- Stubborn and Swiftstrider
The simple idea is to stick both of my characters in the Maneater unit and support the unit with my other units.
Simply speaking my Maneaters should be able to wipe the table with anything that dares challenge them. Hoping to roll Trollguts on my Butcher to give my Maneaters a 4+ regen save. Toothcracker also will help my Maneaters stay alive.
If I deploy the maneaters 3x2 (so 3 wide and 2 ranks) I can put either one of my characters in the back rank, as in the front rank there will be the bellower, the standard bearer and one of the characters. Which one do you think I should put in the back rank? I'm thinking the wizard to keep him a little safer. Due to rulings I can't take an Ironblaster and max. 3 mournfang per unit.
Feel free to suggest things, I also have mournfang cavalry.
