The Redtooth tribe

original thread ↗

Hello! I've started an army, I'm calling my Redtooth tribe. Why Redtooth? Because they're always eating fresh meat!

I'm running a small escalation league with my club, working on about 250 points a month (which is already harder than I thought it would be) but we're getting there. Starting at 500 and moving up.

My 500 points is so.

1 x Slaughtermaster
4 x Irongut
4 x Leadbelcher
1 x Sabretusk

Managed to Win one games with this list, against Dwarves and I lost against Dark Elves.

The dwarves I let his best unit chase the Leadbelchers whilst my Ironguts slammed into his general's unit hiding at the back.
Against the Dark elves my Leadbelchers hid in a building and put the hurt on his Peg Rider Hero, but the iron guts went down pretty quickly, and the slaughtermaster fell down a hole with the first spell! Would have been a 8 point win for me, except for the 100 point drop due to my general dying :(

750 Points lets me put in some Mournefang ;)

Played one game at 750 and was very close against Wood Elves. His Wild Riders were terrified of my leadbelchers and stayed away, but I had to move forward to get any points at all and he just pinged too many models off after sitting in the back corner with a lot of shooting. Took out a fair number of models, but just couldn't do enough, especially as he had Metal as his chosen lore and I couldn't take the Mournefang anywhere near his blocks.

But here we are with the first 4 models I painted, my Ironguts! I'm 99% on my leadbelchers now, the sabertusk needs work and i've done a bit more on the rest, but lagging behind a bit. Will get them up when I'm happy with em!
Congrats on the win vs Dwarves!

Just out of curiosity, have you started painting them already, or still in the business of gluing them together?
I've always found that having objectives (similar to those 250pts per month) where a great motivator to get the army ready (as in painted) in relatively short amounts of time.
Both that or a deadline like a tournament or something of the sorts.

Good luck with your army, and do keep sharing your reports!
Cheers,
A.

Painted and Glue'd all of the 500 points. (with some touch ups/finishing needed)

Mournefang have been glued, although the riders haven't. Planning to get the mournefang finished tonight, then work on the Riders at the weekend. Once I've got them done I can properly reset to zero, and then its an easy 250/month.
Nice!
Feel free to post wip pics of the progresses of your army.
I bet it would be very inspiring to a lot of players out there, to actually see the amount of work (in this case "painting") we manage to accomplish, when we work with that kind of short term objectives.
