The Tripote-Tripes

original thread ↗

Hi all ! :D
I'm a newbie in WHB, and I recently aquired a complete 50+ mini Ogre Kingdoms army.
I played a bit Ogres in Blood Bowl and I had the idea of a cherub/Dark Souls themed Ogre team. Dark Souls means that I have to play with the heaven lore and much hammers :)

So let's try it with an entire army !

I started to magnetize some bases with 20mm wide Supermagnete bands. Then I had the idea to greenstuffize a bit my minis.

Here is the Tyrant, Smough Tripote-Tripes. He is a reference to a Dark Souls boss, so I had to sculpt him a giant hammer. I changed his plate too because I wanted a more aggressive one. I sculpted some mailcoat too, to equalize the "mass render" on the miniature.

Here is a BGB. It comes from an old range of miniatures. I don't like him much, so I wanted to change his head by a modern ogre one. I sculpted a banner, on a face with a fur texture and on the other like leather. I'm not going to play him unless I really need, it's really an ugly mini.

Here is the butcher. He comes from Dark Moon Chronicles, but he fits quite well in a Games-Workshop army. I'd like to play him as an heaven-lore mage, but it means that I have to play another butcher. And other butchers I've got are really ugly...
Np, it worth it. I sculpted a core with greenstuff, with a vein and an arter.

That's all for the week-end folks ;)
That is one hell of a Hammer and i love the idea of Cherub/Dark Souls themed Ogres. I will be following this with interest.

My only thing i would like to see changed is the sculpted chainmail. To me currently its lust looks like greenstuff with holes in it. There are loads of tutorials online

Here is a good one

Thanks ! ^_^
Good idea, I will try with a curved tool :) Sure it will be much better !
