The Khaine Magic fiasco

original thread ↗

A couple months back, I played one of my regular opponents with the new magic rules.  Suffice to say, I was less than a fan (the rules plus awful dice rolling pretty much meant his magic romped all over me).  Now, Ogres are not one to look down in the mouth about poor magic.  Rather, they're happy putting you, your friend, and a couple steers down their mouth to drown their sorrows.

Nevertheless, it never went well.  Between not getting charges off, getting charged, and just really poor dice rolls, those pesky Dark Elves with their souped-up magic couldn't be contained.  Enjoy the bloodbath in this here video:

You'll note I ran yet another list that wasn't optimized for "uber-bestness".  That bores me.  So I shook things up again and tried a few different tricks.  Bragg wasn't awful, but, as is so often the case, my opponent kept anyone he could truly harm well away from him.  Not altogether bad, as that kept a nasty dragon facing another nasty unit, but it wasn't in the dice.  Also, my opponent calls my Thundertusk a Stonehorn a few times in the video, but it remained running as a Thundertusk (and later, as a tasty fajita stand by an enterprising Gnoblar after the carnage).

It was a fun bloodbath, but the magic really sealed the deal- too many rusty armors and glittery robes to contend with on an already killy army.
