Just to clarify, I am not actually planning to do this as I realise it is against the aim of the game. But in the magic weapons section it says about whats in a name, a giant blade could be a club etc etc. Is this true for the armours as well? Could the enchanted shield be represented as an enchanted helm and then use an ironfist as well?

The item is what is says it is. Can't change that.

The enchanted shield is specifically a shield - now, because we're ogres we can call an ironfist a shield and be done with that, but we can't change its type.
If you want an additional +1 to armor saves, take an ironfist and the dragonhelm.

That's wha I thought. I wouldn't do it myself, but hadn't noticed if there was a specific restriction on this.

But that will only give the same armour boost as the Enchanted Shield, so you've got a choice to make.

But it does still allow a parry save, assuming you don't take a magic weapon

Yes it does. But as said you will loose the parry save if you have a ward save of any kind or if you take a magic weapon.
Kind regards Zolas.

However, you cannot take a parry save if you have a magic weapon OR shield. That's what it seemed like this thread was heading, just wanted to make sure
