Starting up my own miniatures game

original thread ↗

As per the title, I have been working on this ambitious little project for about a year and a half now. I have bulit up a collection of concept artwork, and miniatures which have been produced in resin for a Fantasy Skirmish game. The idea is to eventually go the kickstarter route to fund it. I'm not a gaming industry veteran, I'm not a guy flushed with cash, or a sculptor, just a gamer with a dream and if you could call it that, a 'vision'.

I just thought I'd post this little tidbit here and depending on interest and discussion I'd put more material up. People on this forum seem a lot nicer and more proactive than warseer, which is my usual stomping ground.

The intention if to have a set for four factions produced along with a rulebook to launch it with. While the game world (a fantastical rpg setting I created fusing traditional medieval fantasy with renaissance Italian/Spannish elements along with some other bits and pieces), factions and aesthetic of miniatures are firmly in place, the rules system is still somewhat up in the air.

Anyway, those are my scattered thoughts put in a somewhat concise form.
Could you possibly post any pictures of the minis and a brief description of each faction?

Zak
I'm not on my own laptop, but sure, I can do that. It will be tomorrow at some point. For now, the factions:

The Orders of Light - Various sub factions serving a powerful religious organisation that function as witch hunters, making use of fanatics, knights, crusaders and coerced allies from the Inventors guild. They wage a holy war on spell casters.

The Arcane Axis - A desperate, disparate fledgling alliance of desperate mages from different elemental temples. Some of the different orders have borne the brunt of the intial strike of the Orders of Light. Various types of spellcaster, specialist magician and elementals protect them from harm.

The Dragon in Shadow - A mysterious spy and operative network operating many sleeper cell agents accross the kingdoms. It is unknown what their objective is. Snipers, assassins, rabble rousers and thugs have been mentioned in reports concerning the organisation.

Cult Obscura - An insidious secret society responsible for orhcestrating much of the turmoil in the world at present. Cultists, sorcerers, dark knights and monsters fill their ranks.

I can put up artwork, finished models and so forth tomorrow but I don't have them on this computer. Or maybe I have some I can put up from photobucket. Hold on...

This is looking like a very interesting project and I wish you luck with it. I will be keeping an eye on this thread. ;)

Sounds interesting. I love me some warhammer but I'm tempted to look at skirmish type games that maybe out there. I have a rumour/ thought that 9th edition will actually have 2 versions with big battles and skirmish rules too.

I'm a sucker for kickstarters too with great figures.

More pics the better ;)

Good luck.

My Campaign Idea: Have a look and feedback!

Thanks for the responses guys. The first image is a Crusader, a warrior order below that of the elite knights, part of the orders of light, while the second is an angel of the god of light, the god of a dominant religion in the setting.

The third image is a member of the alchemist and inventors guild who field tests weaponry. Their order has been coerced into joining the faction.

This is another crusader, a veteran:

This guy is a fanatic type character that gravitates to a Witch Hunter's coterie.

This guy is a member of the main knightly order of the religion:

And yet another Crusader:

Really good looking stuff here

I myself have been playing around with the idea of making my own skirmish game and love to watch people travel the same footpath that one day i hope to travel
