Yeah, magic res just increases your ward save. If the spell doesn't allow ward saves you still don't get one though.

sorry I asked it the wrong way. I meant wounds caused by irr. force of your own sorceler (misscast)

MR does nothing against that. The only item in the game that does is the Banner of the Broken Dragon, so only elves can prevent that. Everyone else just explodes.

A: No to both questions.
