Norsican Ogres headed to Adepticon

original thread ↗

Hola!

Thought I would finally post on the forum as I heard about it from the Bad Dice podcast with the Ogre review sometime ago...

Anyway I am bringing my Ogres to Adepticon this year as I have been challenged to build a WHF army...  Here is a quick shot of them so far....

Looks awesome, especially the mix of space wolves storm shields.  The greenstuff work looks well done as well.
Thanks!  Actually I can't tell a lie.  Dave Taylor did the heads for me.... I will however try to bump up to that level with my green stuff work...

Hola!  Here are some more shots of my Ogres... Wolf pelts on but no green stuff yet...

Love to hear your thoughts!

I think they're coming out really well. The Space Wolf gear really goes well with the Ogres. That skull faced helmet looks pretty stellar.
"I'm not an unreasonable sort. If you have no gold, you can pay in meat. You'll get the meat now, yes? I haven't eaten in hours."

I love the theme and my only heartburn is that you beat me to it and did a far better job than my poor start...seriously and jealousy aside, I love them
Thank you both!

Here is an update for my Norsican Ogres ... Green stuff done!

And two backs together....

Best of the Holidays!

Thanks and good point!

These are my Ironguts with command and banner.  My Firebelly and Sabretusks to follow shortly... That is my 500 point AdeptiCon list...

So I am still waiting for my Vallejo paints - Thus no paint on the Ogres yet but I used that time to prime them and finish up my Firebelly…

First I tried to copy Dave’s helmet/head work.  After being completely intimidated about the process I now feel I can give the bulk of the heads a go when I do my Bulls.  Here are some close ups of what I did…

Next I did some back work and added some SW icons and such…

I removed the hammer and added an axe to better mesh into the rest of the arm (plus the SW icons)

And here is the Firebelly completed.  I rather like how he turned out.  The heaviness of the axe is my favorite…

I also worked on my Thunderwolf/Sabretusk but they turned out to be way too big. They will however make awesome Mournfang Cavalry.  I have ordered the 40K SW Fenrisian Wolves instead and will post them when I can.  I must say however, it was a real pleasure to build the Thunderwolves.  What a great kit. Even removing the bionic bits was a pleasure.

One last comment is that the Firebelly was of course GW Finecast resin.  I rather liked the experience working with the resin.  It was easy to cut and manipulate, glued well and I am still not sure what all the fuss is about.  I really think the type of resin is a converter’s dream.

Love to hear your comments!

I dig that firebelly. Something about the mask/horns area looks a bit odd though. Maybe out of balance a bit? Hard to say but then again a giant cloud of fire coming out of his mouth could be adding to that impression!

Loving the entire lot mate well done.  In particular it's great to see a variety of weapons that overshadow the normal ones we are use to seeing.  Great work!

Thank you! The weapon swaps are fun and needed to really make them from the frosty north :)

The horns on the Firebelly helm are swept back and thus the balance looks a bit odd from some angles for sure.  But when he is standing straight the look true...

Can't wait it get some paint on them

Finally got some paint on so I can do a quick little update….

Here are the miniatures with a layer of Ratskin Flesh

Now a 50/50 layer of Ratskin Flesh and Bronze Fleshtone (Vallejo)

Now a layer of Bronze Fleshtone (and some close ups)

Lastly some close ups of wish a wash of Gryphonne Sepia

Love those conversions, congrats!
Looking forward to see them painted.

Cheers,
A.
Nooooo....  To warm.  I am not going to be able to save that paint.  The look too much like they have just returned from the Tileaian coast.... Have to repaint.  More blues...
