The fluff of the new book is great, with tasty little tidbits and great conflicts and resolutions (and a guest appearance from 40k's Draigo!).
And then there's this little bit in the beginning: "In the mountains, drums proclaim that a bone-hewed prophecy at last edges to fulfillment, a warlord of yesteryear reborn a conqueror of today."
Who does that sound like?

Grimgor?
Greasus is supposed to be the thing, but he is so underwhelming TBH, they would have to make a major overhaul of his kit to make him interesting.

Greasus finally gets off his pile of Gnoblars to get into some proper biffo, and discovers the rest of his statline.

I'm hoping Skrag throws Greasus into the Cauldron of the Great Maw and he comes out with a statline that doesn't suck.
'I lost 3 tons and gained movement appropriate to an ogre, and I owe it all to being sacrificed to the Great Maw' -Greasus, in my idealized world.

Greasus develops a nearly crippling Warpstone habit. The weight just peels away, however he squanders his fortune on ever increasingly potent warpstone and Skaven hookers.
Empire gets Karl Franz: Ascended. Ogres get: Greasus Goldteeth: Meth-head

I'm loving this thread just for the comedy alone!
Hopefully we will get something nice to make our characters actually worth looking at.
Kind regards Zolas

*End Times Spoilers!*
The book ends with the great vortex being undone, and the winds of magic roaming free. Nagash already grabbed death, but the Elves anchor Life, Shadow, and Light. Heavens anchors on someone in the Empire, but that still leaves Metal, Beasts, and Fire unclaimed.
Maybe we'll get a Lord-level firebelly after all...

Aye, I can not think of anyone who would be a shoe in for fire. Dwarves if they used magic, but since they don't...

With the end times, maybe dwarves do get magic. I could see them getting the metal shard. Fire could be ogres, chaos dwarves(they use magic), maybe empire. Beast, probably beastmen, wood elves, or maybe the bretts could get a character.
I just hope we get something good, The end times kinda been ogre lacking.

I think we should claim our right to beasts as well.

I don't really see beastmen getting any more toys after the Glottkin book. Their buff was the ability to buy marks, a much-buffed Reign of Chaos table, access to an improved Eye of the Gods table (JUST what you want a doom bull rolling on ), and a vastly improved list.
I can definitely see Greasus grabbing Fire, and then an improvement to Skrag; if Alarielle became Life Incarnate, then perhaps Skrag will the Maw Incarnate
The Dwarfs are a bit of an odd ball. Not only do they not use magic in the first place, but in the first book, Nagash ATE Valaya, their goddess of magic (or equivalent).
LawGnome05 Dec 2014
I don't see us getting one of the incarnates. All of our special wizards are Maw casters. I think we are more likely to see the Beasts incarnate going to Tehenhuan over with the lizards. I think he's the only lord caster that is limited to just Beasts.
There isn't a special named firebelly anywhere in the lore, so I doubt they would suddenly make up one just to get the incarnate of Fire.
I think heavens and death have already been taken, so I'm pretty sure we are SOL on getting one of them.
I hope we do get something by the end of this. Not necessarily something good, just SOMETHING.

Well, Teclis is basically aiming to tie the winds to good guys, people who can stand against the looming Chaos Threats. And Nagash already nicked Death.
Mazdamundi isn't a bad choice for Heavens - the Lizzies do have Tetto'Ekko but fluff wise it's primarily going to the big special characters. Metal might be a redeemed Gelt, though there's still Light and Beasts and Fire after those...
Still, we'll get something. Every army should be really, and the next book's focus is on Skaven and Lizardmen, in Lustria. So it's possible another book could focus on us and the Orcs and Goblins...

Mazdamundi and heavens would make sense. Any idea how many books are planned? I have heard that the next one is skaven and lizards, and there is bound to be an empire/bret/possibly dwarves book in the future. Chances are they would end with the human book, so if we get a book at all its probably with orcs and goblins.
I still think that Tehenhuain will be the beasts incarnate. With the book being skaven and lizards, I'm betting it is going to involve the coming of Sotek.
Also, based on the fact that they have been doing big combined lords lately, Tehenhuain on a Steg (or even better, on a coatl) would make for a great combined lord.
MAVV05 Dec 2014
Karl got Heavens.
Beasts magic took the form of a giant chimera and headed East... No other clues there. Doubtful lizards get it. Fire and Metal both cheesed it at about the same time with no clues as to where. I doubt Gelt would get Metal, I think he's pretty much done for fluff as Vlad's thrall.
Teclis has a line where he says the winds would go to champions "not to his liking" or something to that effect. Pretty interesting stuff, I'm excited to read more.

I hope so, I have skink dedicated to sotek army as well as my lustria ogres. Let see what happens, I hope we get a fire belly prophet.
