Joyous' Broken Moons Tribe (Update 6-Dec-14: Massive Addition to the Tribe!!!)

original thread ↗

Allo there all, finally got around to uploading some pics of my ogre army, such as it is and wish to start the ball rolling on this Gnoblog!

Now most of this army is unpainted, a few are crudely painted, and a small handful are WIP in my new scheme...anyways...pics can explain better.

Hoping to pick up some more stuff cheap soon, but depends on friends ability to part with old unused models!!

Without further adieu and no more gilding the lily...

(clicking on any pic will bring you to original, hosted on Dakka Dakka and as such are enlargeable)

The whole crew:

Bulls and IGs (newest bulls in front, IGs far back):

Maneater Collection (front), Leadbelchas (mid/rear), Tyrant/Maneater? (left)

Better Pic of WIP bulls and Tyrant/Maneater?

Mordheim Ogres/Maneaters!

Lastly (for now) my Tyrant/Maneater (seriously...what is he?)

Comments and suggestions are ALWAYS welcomed and encouraged. I'm not the best painter and I'll admit this army is going more for speed than skill, but I try not to be too sloppy.

He's the special edition Bruiser / Tyrant from the army box set when ogres first came out.  Most people use him as a maneater though.  I have 1 myself.  Fantastic model!  Keep him for sure.  Otherwise great start.  Look forward to seeing more.

Kind regards Zolas.

I've picked up GWs ryza rust paint to try out tonight. I thought I had a rust colored pigment powder but it was just a rich earthy colour that didn't turn out like I wanted on the first 5 guys.

Anyone have experience with GWs rust paint?

Alright, well the Ogre train keeps on going. I have redone the previous ogres with new rust effects thanks to GW's Ryza Rust. I also painted two more to go with them, and readied another 2 to finish the unit (for now).

Moving forward, I'm looking to do up 3 Leadbelchers fairly quickly and then try my hand at converting a Butcher from a bull...or just use the female maneater like another person mentioned!

Anyways, here's some pics, feedback is welcome and sought!

Hello again all! I mentioned in my first post about hoping to expand my ogres through a friend getting out of the hobby...well I managed to score a pretty sweet deal. My friend basically dumped ALL his ogre stuff on me for a fire sale price...

Anyways, here is what I managed to score!

Full Army Shot:

16 Bulls (all with IFs thankfully!!) and 4 Leadbelchers:

2 Butchers/Slaughtermasters and Tyrant behind:

Maneater Troupe:

Gnoblars, Ironguts and Hunter + Kitties:

Finally, 2 New boxes of shiny goodness!!!

Not pictured is an old metal scraplauncha.

All this for $150 CAN/84 GBP/ 131 USD, so not bad in my opinion!

I'm glad i have a painted playable army now, but since I'm a nut I will be slowly going through these and changing sking and metallic areas to my style of painting!
