Hey all, second batrep here. It's my first time playing against Dwarfs so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect... For some reason I assumed he'd be playing gunline but he went for a more balanced (??) approach of Horde + Warmachines. Here's the lists: (note - i really like Hunters but I can never seem to equip them properly... I guess they just aren't that great. Any tips?)
Ogre Kingdoms (OK):
Bruiser General - HA, AHW, Ironcurse Icon
Bruiser BSB - HA, IF, 4++, Luckstone
Butcher LvL 2 Maw - IF, Dragonhelm, Power Stone
Hunter - IF, Stubborn Crown, Sword of Striking
4 Ogres, champ + AHW
4 Ogres, champ + AHW
8 Ogres, FC, IF
10 Gnoblars
4 Leadbelchers, bellower
Gorger
1 sabre
1 sabre
3 sabres
Dwarfs (D):
Dwarf Lord with shield bearers, unkillable 1+/4++ combo
Thane BSB with some goodies
40 Warriors, GW
20 Hammerers, GW
2 Cannons
2 Organ Guns
also he rolled for Hatred and got a 6
Deployment

We rolled a meeting engagement, and my opponent won the roll off. He deployed towards one corner, with only his Warrior horde rolling a 1, obviously busy doing Dwarf business off of the board somewhere. I deployed afterwards, mostly lining up against him, with my faster units sweeping around the top to take out warmachines and hit the flanks later on. I seized the initiative with a cheeky 6, and the game began!
OK 1

I was planning on using the Gnoblars as a cover screen to walk in front of the Leadies - but it wan't meant to be. Evidently the little scamps had found something shiny and had to be bullied by the Bruiser BSB to show up on my table edge rather than with the rest of the army. I was planning on throwing the BSB with the bigger unit of Bulls but he just sort of ambled forwards trying to keep everyone in the bubble. Both solo sabres moved towards the War Machines, and the Hunting Pack marched into a threatening position. The big bull unit moved into charging distance of the Hammerers, with the Butcher's unit of bulls sitting behind them. The other Bulls moved up to gauge their options in the coming turns. The Leadies brazenly moved over the demonic shrine which we had determined was Dangerous Terrain, and one died after failing his test (I realize we did this wrong seeing as they weren't Marching, Charging, etc. Also he should have simply lost 1 wound, and not been killed, oops). The remaining 3 Leadies opened up on the Hammerers, killing a satisfying 4. Magic winds were moderate, +1 Str was dispelled but stubborn went through on the General's unit.
D 1

The Warrior horde showed up behind the main battle line. The Dwarf Lord and his bearers moved into a redirecting position in front of the Bulls. At this point I was grossly underestimating how unkillable this guy was so I was pretty satisfied I could squash him and reform (very very wrong bad idea what am i doing) afterwards. The Hammerers with their Thane wheeled around to complete the anvil/hammer situation the Lord had set up for the Bulls (you guessed it: the Hammerers were playing the part of the Hammer). The Warmachines were pretty average this turn, the organ gun killed a Leadie, enough to panic them (they rolled an 11, then rerolled a 9
) and they fell back a few inches. The other one didn't fire, and the cannons killed like 1 ogre from the big unit.
OK 2

Time to tie these war machines up. Sabres charge a cannon and an organ gun. The Hunting Pack makes the questionable decision to charge the Horde rather than help out with the Dwarf Lord. The General's bulls charge the Lord, and the BSB moves into a position where he can join the combat soon. The Butcher's bulls hold fast, waiting for an opportunity. The other bulls wheel past the cannon to face the other organ gun (picture doesn't show this quite right). Leadbelchers rally and stumble forward. Gnoblars continue their quest to make an impact on the game in any conceivable way by marching towards a cannon. I irresistibly cast stubborn on the General's bulls, and the miscast is the one where I lose a level/spell and take a wound. I roll the lore trait and, of course, roll a 1. In combat the Dwarf Lord challenges and my unit championinexplicably heroically steps up to the plate. He gets cleaned up and the combat continues. The Sabres kill a few crew members and survive to fight on. The Hunting Pack kills 7 Warriors, and takes 1 dead sabre in return. Also the Gorger showed up and looked at least a little bit dangerous.
D 2

The Hammerers do what they do best and Hammer into the flank of my General's bulls. The bull unit is ruined and rolls high despite stubborn, they're out of range of the BSB and so they flee, with both Hammerers and Lord pursuing. Fortunately, I rolled double 6 to flee, and the Hammerers pulled up perfectly for a counter flank charge from the Butcher and his boys. The Sabre on the right flank eats the Organ gun crew and turns to face the cannon. The Warrior unit reforms to face the Hunting Pack, who kill a few more before being thoroughly wiped out by 7000 S5 dwarf attacks. They turn to face the battle line. The cannon inflicts a single wound on a Leadbelcher, and the organ gun kills a bull from the other bull unit.
OK 3

My general rallies and turns to face his tiny bearded pursuers. Butcher Bulls charge the Hammerers, Sabre charges the cannon. The bulls charge the organ gun. BSB moves to join the Butcher's unit (question: how does this work? they charged into combat, can he then march to join their unit? If so, can he fight? We didn't know exactly, so we let him march their and join the unit but not fight...). The Gorger charges the flank of the Warrior horde (I really wanted him to get the dwarf Lord and KB him but it wasn't meant to be. The bulls make short work of the gun crew, and turn to line up with the Warriors. Butcher and friends kill a lot of Hammerers, take a few wounds in return. The Sabre on the right flank gets killed by their cannon crew, whilst the Sabre on the left continues trading blows (or getting his tummy scratched, I'm not sure whats going on over there but no one's dying) with the cannon crew. The Gorger kills a few Warriors and is reduced to 1 wound in return. The Gnoblars scurry towards the cannon, eager to do something. Leadbelchers shoot at the Lord but accomplish nothing (pic slightly skews this).
D 3

The Lord charges my General to finish the job, they hold - hoping their weapons won't bounce off his tiny invincible face. The Thane in with the Hammerers makes way and challenges, I accept with my BSB for a good old fashioned banner bash. Fortunately the Thane's GW enabled me to fight first, killing him before he could do anything. The rest of the models trade blows and leave only a handful of Hammerers left, who hold out. Warrior Horde takes a couple of casualties but kill the Gorger. Sabre miraculously holds, and the Warriors fail their test to reform (ha!). Dwarf Lord smashes more face, and sends my General and a single surviving bull running for the hills. He turns to face the Butcher. The Sabre on the left flank finally kills the crew and overruns into the back of the warrior horde.
OK 4

General fails to rally and continues running. Leadbelchers suffer from delusions of grandeur and charge the Dwarf Lord (seriously what am i even doing now). The Bulls charge the Warrior Horde to help out the lone sabre (who is now biting tiny dwarf butts). Dwarf Lord and Leadies smack each other a bit but combat holds. The bulls kill like 2 Warriors who in return slaughter the Bulls, and the Sabre flees. ***IMPORTANT*** My 10 Gnoblars charge cannon crew and KILL ALL THREE GUYS. THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVERRRR- oh my army is basically dead/routed.
D 4

The Lord breaks the Leadies, and catches them on the pursuit. Warrior Horde (now down to 15-20 guys) reforms and just kinda chills out.
---------
Remaining turns see the Lord and Warriors sandwich my Bulls and kill them to a man. We call it a game!
Lots of fun to play, and a few dumb mistakes by me (ie. equipping General basically naked, not multi charging with Bull units). My main problem was really the unkillable Lord, I should never have accepted that challenge and there was no reason to other thanGLORY stupidity haha. I don't know why I let him tie me up like that instead of killing him with the unit... Anyway - I'll know better for next time. Let me know what you think, cheers!
