Transporting Ogres

Hello again fellow Tyrants

Given the wealth of knowledge available on here and the invaluable help I've received on other questions, I thought I'd ask for assistance on this years Christmas present....

So far my fatties are being transported in the less than optimal shoe boxes with a ton of bog roll to keep them in place so I've asked my folks for something to carry my stuff in. Obviously GW make cases but I'm not sure how well the ogres fit into this and also, being GW, its twice the price it should be.

Does anyone know of any decent alternatives that are available and you'd recommend. I obviously want it for transporting ogres but also have a sizeable tomb kings force as well as 40k elements that if I could also use it for, that would be ideal. I've seen something I liked the look of that someone else had which I think was by Army Transport, but I'm not sure if it's available in the UK looking at the website.

Additionally with this method setup only takes minutes.

I had considered this as an option actually warlord as it does seem the most sensible. The only issue is though that I was hoping for something a bit more lightweight, I get the feeling a metal box full of fatties (some of mine are the old metal ones) might be a bit heavy.

KR Multicase now do an Ogres foam option. Go with the cardboard box option and you wont have to shell out more than £25 to take the whole army. Wanna travel in style? Upgrade to one of their big aluminium cases. Spendy but nice.

Otherwise I have to agree and say the cheapest option is a metal lined tool box and magnets.

Kr cases are nice and I use them my self. Got the kaiser 2 case on one of the smaller ones. They have a huge range of foam trays as well as multi coloured foam.

Agreed though, I have loads of KR cases; had some cardboard ones that have lasted 7 years so far...use them and the toolbox thing too. Horses for courses, it all depends how much you have to transport and how often (and who's paying for these cases  )

I went with the violate my wallet option. KR is better if you're on a budget, but for the sake of giving you all the choices I'll post what I bought.

http://uk.battlefoam.com/1520-p-a-c-k-1520-xl-custom-load-out/ If you get this, you get a massive case with a bunch of custom cut foam (22 inches worth, which stores my entire army with a good deal of room to spare), or pick from their ogre foam trays. If an ogre foam tray is out of stock, you can do what I did and just ask them to custom cut to that foam trays specs. It also has a number of deep pockets, so I ditched the backpack that held all my movement trays/dice/books/dildo's and just stuck it in the case.

Never had a broken model since, but when shipping/taxes are included it set me back £250, so I had to save up for a few months. Its really good though, with my only criticism being the stonehorn/thundertusk foam they do only lets you have one pose for your stonehorn, although I daresay you could tinker with the foam a bit to get it to fit.

Edit - If you're driving you don't even need the case, you could just get a few foam trays. The battlefoam ones are stiff and so should still protect your fatties. I needed the case because I only get a lift back, and have to take a couple of trains to my club normally.
