Mountaincrackers tribe, new tyrant

original thread ↗

Hello!

After playing Empire for some time, I decided I want a new army.
Seeing as I hate all elves and anything chaos related and I don't want short, slow, shooting guys (aka dwarves) I went with ogres. My first purchase was a battalion box and a tyrant, he will be acting as a slaughtermaster, firebelly or whatever he needs to.

So I started working towards this 800 point list :

Firebelly - 189
 - Dispel Scroll
 - GW
 - Level 2

5 Ironguts - 260
 - Full Command
 - Standard of Discipline

3 Ogres
 - Ironfists
 - Bellower

3 Ogres
 - Ironfists
 - Bellower

3 Leadbelchers
 - Bellower

With this as at set plan I began assembling and painting my ogres, due to the name of the tribe, you can expect the bases to have lots of rocks on them.
So without further blabbering have some pictures of my first ogre ever, also the first time I tried to make snow.

Hope you like it, I'm gonna try paint more stuff next week.   :D
Looks good! I love using a firebelly in low point games since he has so much versatility, but his leadership is very low and magic can be very, very fickle. The breath weapon is his best trick, imo.

If you want some more snow options, I put a large reference photo of different snow materials on my blog. http://hakomike.blogspot.com/2014/08/snow-basing-materials-reference.html
I have a Gnoblog and a normal blog.
For a "first Ogre Ever" this guy looks really good. The beauty of the OK army is that, unlike Empire, you have more of a free reign to experiment with different schemes and colours.
this guy looks great so far, can't wait to see more of them.

Thanks guys.
I made the snow without any snow flocks or shenanigans. I just used some white glue (PVA I believe, not a native english speaker) and baking powder (or soda, what's the difference?). I put some glue and then covered it with the baking powder, shook extras off, that is what I got. I think its fairly nice.

Once I get 5 more ogres and the tyrant painted up I might play a game with them, I bought some painted fellows from a friend who didn't have use for them, I'll put up some pictures of them as well.
