That's pretty good looking, you're certainly better at eyes than me. Maybe and it just might be me, but a bit more weathering on the metal bits and maybe make their teeth a bit more yellow, after all ogres aren't exactly known for their dental hygiene.
Great work so far, keep it up

Ahh thanks guys, yeah definitely agree with the weathering and making the teeth more dirty. Yeah haha still a fair few greylings left to get through. I'm currently painting my standard bearer for the unit. At the moment I've been doing individual models but I think I'm going to start painting in batches to speed things up.

Update on my painting progress. Nearly finished base coating my ogre standard bearer, just a little more neatening up to do. But I'm pretty happy with how he is coming along.
Swung by local GW this evening and loving and saw Nagash in the flesh! or bone? or plastic? haha, all the new models for The End times are looking incredible. Love the spirit hosts, definitely tempted to pick up some skeletons.
Any way here is my SB

Hey all, today is a Sunday! and I have the day off for a change. In preparation for the first game I'm going to have in a while tomorrow, I've decided I want some lead belchers up and running. They are yet to come off the sprue. So the idea is to get 4 of them off the sprue, based unassembled and then assembled.
I am also going to try and get my final ogre in the unit of 6 up and ready. He is currently in this state.

Any way I'll be uploading through out the day because I found that quite fun and it breaks things up for me.
More to come in the next few hours!

So things didn't go quite according to plan today, I completely forgot that I was going out with family for a good portion of the day haha. I have however still made good progress and should have all ready for tomorrow.

As you can see I have got all the lead belchers of the sprue and got rid of all mould lines off all 5 models and cleaned them up. So they're all ready for priming.

I decided to give this little update as the models are currently drying outside, I'm priming all the parts separately then I'm going to give them a good base coat and once that's done Ill assemble them.
I found this very fast way of getting models base coated quickly.
Has any one had any experience priming in white I find it is quite different to priming in black.
Any way cheers guys Ill be up tomorrow doing what I have said above and hopefully they will be ready in time!

Hey guys up date on the little mini goal I set for myself unfortunately! I got close. But I didn't quite make it. I stopped about an hour ago because I felt like I was rushing and I didn't want to loose quality. HOWEVER!! I feel like I achieved a lot in a pretty short amount of time and next weeks I will have 5 ogres ready to add to my list!
Here is a few pics.

So what I had left to do pretty much was I to apply a couple more watered down coats on each main area then glue them together. That would have sufficed for tonight's battle but, it wasn't to be!
Also I'm not sure how I'm going to paint the Gnoblars! I think I might go for purple skin!? haha
Let me know what you guys think!
Cheers More to come !

Hi, love the minis, as others have said the painting is very clean and has a lovely finish to it.
Also love the design on the banner, it works really well. Ive been trying to come up with something for my ogres and i think your idea of a 'blocked out' hand is very Ogreish. I cant imagine there are too many Rembrandts or Van Goughs in the tribes
If you dont mind i think i will outright steal the 'blocked' pattern and try to come up with something on mine.
top stuff

Haha no problem mate, Steal away!
Hey all!
It's been a long time since I've made a post guys. Haven't really had a lot of time to hobby over the Christmas and Jan.
Update on my army:
- I have made a 9 man unit of Ironguts.
-I have also assembled my 4 man Leadbelcher unit
- I have done a little bit of painting here and there.
- I have made movement trays for the main block units
Here are some pictures!
The Irongut bus with my Butcher model and my BSB.

The Leadbelchers

The Ogres with Ironfists.

The Mournfang

From my battalion box I made 3 ogres, 4 Leadbelchers, 9 Ironguts full command, the bsb and I think I have enough to make one more ogre. But as things stands these models allow me to play around the 1250point area which is what I was going for.
What's coming next?.... Lots of painting. haha
So I'm really going to get on painting the models now and will be finishing the units that I have started first. I don't like unfinished business haha. The ogre unit of 6 will be first to finish not really a huge amount to do there, then the leadbelchers and finally the Ironguts or Mournfang.
I am iordering 2 sabre tusks to add to this list but I am going to try and paint majority of this army before buying anything more significant. I also found out the other day when getting my paints out, that 2 of them were left open over Christmas and have dried out, (Cadian fleshtone being one of them, probably the most used paint I own).So I will need to repurchase them to make any real progress.
Anyway I'm back and there will be more to come soon!

Cheers guys. I'll get a better picture up of him. There are some closer up shots of him earlier in the gnoblog, I don't know if you have seem them? Anyway only got in about an hour ago from gaming night. Managed to get a game and a half in haha. It was my ogres vs high elves and it was really fun. I've got lots of pictures of both games and some updates on my painting. I'll post them up tomorrow as I need to get them all on my computer. Currently on my phone...

Hey all here is the pictures of my painting progress I've pretty much finished another ogre. Tried a different way of painting the eyes which made them much cleaner, saw it online so I take no credit I just wanted to show you how I did it.
So here is the ogre I was working on, He's just been based and shaded.

Here you can see I've done the whites of his eyes quite messily however with this technique it doesn't matter and thats the whole point of it.

Because from this picture you can now see I've worked the skin colour around the edges of the eyes and refined the shape of the eye to what they are supposed to be.

Then just touched up the shading on the face and BAM! the eyes look nice and clean!

Now I've started to layer the model going back over the skin skipping out the recesses the standard stuff.

Not forgetting to dot the eyes hahah

Oh and add the verdigris!

Then I would have usually stopped here pretty much however I have recently bought a technical paint from GW that is used for verdigris. I used to just mix caliban green and sotek green (I think those are the colours) and be done with. But adding in this technical paint (Nihilakh Oxide) really gives the verdigris some nice depth to it I think.

IMO just makes something that was awesome go that little bit further haha.
Anyway hope you guys enjoyed looking at my paint progress. I will be painting up another two regular ogres over the next week or so and getting more games in!
Speaking of games.. I have started playing at Bristol Vanguard with a friend who plays High Elves I went there last night and it was awesome. We played 1 and a half games because it was getting late so we cut the second game short, but it was still a lot of fun. I definitely think I prefer the 1500 bracket to the 1250 point and we agreed that next time we would do 1 game of 1500pts.
So there we go blabbed a bit but oh well haha. Ill get some pictures up of the battles but I can't really do a battle report because I can't remember myself what happened completely hahaha. But there was some very funny and awesome events (my lv4 SM reducing his wizard level to 1 first turn for example and forgetting 3 spells, all you can do is laugh)
Cheers guys
