Question of which ogre skin color

original thread ↗

Hello everyone

I am a proud new owner of an ogre army, and wish to start painting them.  The issue is, I have no idea on which skin color to choose for the army.  The current fluff for the army is ogre in lustria, so they will be riding carnosaurs/ other dinosaur mounts, have bone/gold weapons, and thinking the main secondary color will be red, blue, or orange.  This army inspiration come from Jurassic park, stomping land, king kong,, turok, and primal carnage, so their will be Easter egg across the army.

The biggest issue is how should I paint the ogre/gnoblar skin?  Should i paint the ogres human pink, old ogre grey, or peter Jackson skull islander brown?  Here a picture for skull islander

For the gnoblar, I am leaning towards goblin green(better camo for jungle enviroment), but grey is also an idea.  Thanks for reading, C&C need.
IMO ogres should be grey. I've never liked the new pink skin scheme, it just doesn't look very ogrey to me. That said, the islander brown sounds like an interesting option, especially with your fluff and theme.

I think a brown could be very cool. Makes you think they've gotten a lot of sun in Lustria! Could be very well done indeed, especially if you pull off a jungle underbrush kind of base and incorporate some Lizardmen bits (shields, symbols, etc.) Good luck!
I'd go for a more pink-yellow scheme (my favorite) to come to a more tibettan skin tone (if that is a skin tone?). I'm aiming for a skin tone of tribes that are living in the high mountains, clear sky, lots of sun but also harsh environment with cold, snow and wind.

....But this will not suit jungle Ogres. In that case I would go for a more lighter scheme of skin. Maybe even light grey or pinkish working towards white?
An idea could be to look at how people who live in that part of the world would look like. Look up images of indian tribes from the amazon or southeast Asia. Then use that as a baseline and add a few touches like camouflage or tribalesque tattoos/warpaint.
