Couple of questions

Hey guys, a couple of things came up over last week after some discussion with some guys and liked to overhear and butt into conversations. And they seemed quite sure of themselves when it comes to rules, so i thought i might ask here.

1. Gutstar - Now from what I understand the gutstar is a tactic where you line the front of a unit of ironguts with characters so they can't touch the unit till they get through the characters right ?
Well one person said that everyone who had been running it that way was wrong because you can't line your front rank with characters, because your command needs to be there. He says its in the rulebook, but i don't have mine on hand right now so i can't check. Is this guy right ?

2. Characters - This was a random thing that came up from another guy that just didn't seem right so i thought it best to ask here. Can characters join characters to form units ?

1. He's wrong. Make Way (pg 100 of my little rulebook) specifically says they can displace command models. Now when the unit isn't in close combat they have to be in the second rank, but they can always make way in combat (assuming they aren't already in base combat)

2. Yep. hmjesus recently posted a list with 6 butchers running around as an immune to posion unit.

1. ER is right on the ball as always.  Your friend is right in that the front rank has to contain your command, but your characters can just make way through them and barge their big fat guts to the front.  It also works if you've got 2 characters and a champ if you're light on points, though it's much less effective.

2. I did, I did indeed.  I thought it was an amazing idea, and it actually did pretty well.  Unfortunately I rolled up against Arkhan the Black without a BSB (details are up in the army rosters section).  I would highly recommend people give it a go though.

So the S5 of Tyrant can be used. Aswell as the burning S4 of the Firebelly on Regeneration Troll units.

Only the wounds caused by FB may not be regenerated when resolving the wounds of the impact hits. Wounds caused by unit or characters on Impact hits may be regenerated.

Ones 1 burning wound is not saved in any way, all further CC wounds (except for non burning impact wounds) cannot be regenerated.

can I get a page reference saying make-way is before impact hits?  That's come up for me before, and got ruled against me.

Page 100 (my little rulebook), second sentence of the 'Make Way' section says it in so many words
