Tuzigor's Frost Guts

original thread ↗

Hi all. Been playing the Elves, High Elves technically, and wanted to start another army. Picked the Fat Boys. Low model count FTW!

I'll be adding some fluff as time goes on, but I'll start with the Ogres I've assembled and primed and a test ogre for my scheme. Going with a mountain tribe, deep in the snows of Sabre Mountain.

Looking good mate! Liking the blue skin :) I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this!

My Gnoblog!
That blue skin looks really cool! Still waiting for the first bits of my first army ever to arrive, so im loving going through these for inspiration :)

Still not sure I'm confident enough to pull of something like blue skin yet though, one day! Maybe I can have a unit of maneaters that hail from the fabled Sabre Mountain...
Wow test model is showing the way for the rest of the army!

I have to say that the slaughters hood is awesome!  He just has this look of Dr Doom!  Looks amazing!  Keep up the good work.

Kind regards Zolas.

they're upside down for me, in tapatalk at least
Yes it's weird, they're upside down on my mobile, but were right side up on my computer...  Awkward. I'll try to fix it later tonight.
Update on 8 bulls for last month's failed challenge.

Fingers crossed these don't upload upside down.

Since the skins are such a major component of the scheme; the rest of the highlights are going to be simpler. Throw in some rust on iron and verdigris on copper and various highlights elsewhere and call them a day.
No thats some proper blueys!  Seriously Thor is gonna jump out of no where and start bust'n heads!

Really looking great there Tuzigor.  I can't wait to see more!

Kind regards Zolas.

Some more Ogre goodness. Pretty much final. May highlight edges swords and iron fists with a layer of pure bolt gun metal. Not sure.

Nice to see the finished product.  They look superb!  Can't wait to see some characters in this style!

Kind regards Zolas.

Fantastic, the cannon lighters add a nice balance to the model

Loving this army. What colours did you use for the skin tones?
Lothern Blue and White Scar in varying combinations from just blue to 2:1 white to blue in a number of layers. I think I had mentioned the method and combos a few posts back.

Thanks for the love!
Ah sorry will find it! Cheers I'm hoping to aim for a much paler skin tone but yours is fantastic!
No worries! It's on Page 1 of this Gnoblog. I would think you could do a very similar technique here. Base with the current flesh tone base - Ratskin flesh over a prime coat of black. Followed by Reikland Fleshshade wash. Then start with a layer of Kislev leaving the deep recesses dark and highlight up with a blend of Kislev and white scar. Like 2:1, 1:1 and finally 1:2 for a very pale look. Should be interesting to see your test models!
@Tuzigor Very interesting choice of colours you've gone for. The blue skin compliments your basing and the blending you've done on it is great.
