How to add picture to your forum post?

original thread ↗

I do not seem to be able to add large pictures to my forum post.
I have compressed the size to under 200 kb but am still not able to include it other than as an attachment.

An example is here. I have used the same foto first with the"Insert image" button and then with attachment.

I use tinypic, upload the image onto there and then copy and paste the forum code onto your post. it's free and you can resize the picture as you upload so you can have a choice of sizes. you don't have to compress the file then either and compromise the quality

I use photo bucket personally.  Really easy and simple to use. And one of the Strongholds favourites.

Kind regards Zolas.

Late to the party but...
...Photobucket all the way! If you can wade through the annoying ad crud then it is uber easy to use and much better than attaching photo's to post's. (as in adding an attachment).

Also, on the picture front; don't be afraid to do really, really close up shots. Allot of people shy off doing this as they think it shows all the floors in their painting (and to a certain degree it does but...) but those around who paint allot or have painted for a long time know that if you look super close up it will show floors in even a golden daemon painters work, and it is the best way of really seeing what someone has done paint-wise.

If you take a photo from a distance you can see a painted model. Whoop! If you take it super close up you can see how much work someone has put into painting that model.

Of course some of it will look blocky or thickly painted in places but; you will never see the model this close up in real life and when you painted it, it wasn't as big as you see it in the photo...and it never will be!

Just a thought.
(if you take a look at my Thinling armies Gnoblog I have just posted an Uber-close-up photo of a savage orc warboss...I know all too well that when I painted him he was less than an inch high, not the size of an entire laptop screen! If he had been, well, I'd still be basecoating him!)

Thanks for the words G-H

I will try to get some close ups in the future.

Just testing potobucket here.
