Starting an army of Ogres

here is what I have so far,

2 morfang Calvary
4 lead bleachers
 12 bull ogres
 4 iron guts
1 slave giant
 22 gnoblars

what do I need to add to this army to create a fun army  1500 points and above

I would start by getting a Butcher/Slaughtermaster and a BSB (you can easily make one from a regular Ogre and various bitz).

Then you could also get a Firebelly and some more Ironguts. An Ironblaster would also be a great addition. Sabretusk's are also must haves.

After that, it's a matter of how you want to play your army.

Yeah, that helps.  I am waiting on delivery of the current codex and then I can get moving forward.  I did plan on purchasing sabretusk for chaff wars and I know I needed some general and BSB.

Here's what I would do with what you've got.
1. Battalion box and another box of mournfang- use the bulls in the box to make characters since you already got 12 (its super easy to make an apron for a slaughtermaster/butcher with green stuff). This should give you a decent amount of both core ogre units, and some more leadies, enough for a double 4 or 8 block for chaff clearing or more serious pewpew. 4 mournfang with ironfists and the dragonhide banner is a rock steady choice in any list. Mournfang also get some nice bits for characters. 12-16 bulls, 10 IGs, 8 leadies and a few characters (butcher, Sm, BSB).

2. An iron blaster or two (2 is better). Gives you ranged support. 2 packs of Sabretusks for redirection and chaff, but you got gnoblars who can perform a similar roadblock role, so if money is tight get the Ironblasters first.

3. At this point its up to you, but another battalion, a firebelly, a stonehorn, all decent choices.

4. Don't bother with more gnoblars, you get plenty in the ogre kits. Use spare gnoblar bits to make 8 more, 3 groups of 10 is more than you'll ever need unless you run a huge block.

The guys posted some great tips already, but here's something that I've found out to help in making an army your army:
Get playing and see what works for you. The style of play varies between players, even up to the competitive level. What works for someone else may not work for you, so the best way to see what you need is to get some games underway

Bought a second battalion, older box with gnoblars.  Any links for converting some models to a tyrant etc?
I plan on getting a 2nd box of mournfang as well.

As for the Tyrant, there are many Gnoblogs where you can see BSB or Tyrant conversions.

I definitely agree with converting all of your characters.  It is a lot cheaper to spend $35 on a box of 6 ogres (and another $10 for milliput/green stuff) to make all of your characters than it is to spend $40 on each one.

Also, try using proxies for your first couple of games to see what you like.  For the longest time, I used note cards with drawings of what they were supposed to be to try out different units.  Once you peg down what you like and don't like, you can then start buying additional models.  There is nothing worse than buying a model only to find out that you don't like playing with it.

If you like more substantive proxies, you can easily make sabretusks using small animal toys.  Cheap and easy.

As people said, I support the use of proxies while you figure out what you like to play. Universal Battle or other online tools can also give you the ability to figure out what models/builds you like.
