Just emptied the bank for 2000pts worth of Ogre goodness after doing some heavy lurking on here. I've been playing Dark Elves for the last 12 months, so need a skull crushing antidote to all that dancing around

Welcome to the Stronghold. You will find everything you need here to be able to field a legendary army of Ogre's that can take the Warhammer world to task and lay waste to all in their path (or eat it as it goes).

We are lucky to have many members here who have a good understanding of building up that ogre list, with army alternative builds depending on your style and the kind of army you want your Ogres to be.

Ogres are a great choice as not only do they have a variety of lists that can be run, but from a painting and modelling perspective they are a blank canvas. A themed army is always a treat to see if that's how you would like to go and the members here love to see a good conversion if you want to go that route.

As Jimmy has said; please start a Gnoblog..we love to hear about your army build, see photo's of your painting/ modelling and hear tales of conquest as you crush the lesser armies into the dust!

Thanks for the warm welcome - will start a Gnoblog ASAP - we've got a Summer campaign and painting comp at our GW store this summer, so loads to go at.

Need a theme for the army. Maori inspired is attractive, as is a more Celtic theme - lots of tribal tattoos etc...

Great choices, I was torn between a Scottish themed or the Maori themed as you mentioned as my gorgeous wifey has an islander background.  End of the day I chose the Scots however as the Maoris has little in the way of edged weapons and I didn't have the time to create the new ones from scratch.  Huge opportunities however!
