Scroll of Binding Question

I have an upcoming tournament with the army points set at 2999. We do have access to scrolls of binding and pacts from the storm of magic. The scrolls and sorcerous pacts will follow the normal restrictions and come out of the special choice allowance. I have never used any scrolls in the past and wondered if I opted not to use them would I be at a severe disadvantage and if I should, what is the best bet for my ogre army. I looked and the stonehorn and the thundertusk, but they seem kind of gimped without the riders.

Chimeras are awesome if you're able to work with their poor leadership. Basic dragons can be pretty badass too.

If you're feeling significantly mean and have access to the Monstrous Arcanum, you could try an Ethereal Dread Saurian. Expensive though. Toad Dragons are equally nasty.

Failing that, there's always the Zoat and the Fimir Balefiend, to give you access to some nastier lores.

So much choice! What kind of list are you thinking of?

Not really sure yet, because they come out of the special allowance, I will end up either losing 4 mournfang or my unit of maneaters. Have been trying to find something that will have some good synergy, but it also seems that I may not need to use one. I will post something in the army lists once I have one a little more finalized. If you're feeling particularly evil, power choices look to me like the Ethereal upgraded Dread Saurian, or the biggest Magma Dragon. Both are fairly terrifying!
