How would you make an ice cube?

Quick question, I want to add a gnoblar encrusted in a big ice cube (phone tried auto-correcting to ice boobs then ) on the base of a thundertusk. I have absolutely no idea how to even approach it though. My only idea has been some sort of clear plastic cube from a toy box then painted up with a very light blue wash to still show the gnoblar inside, or something like that. Any ideas much appreciated as I think it could look really cool!

I know that I've seen on the forums in the past some "how-to's" on painting the frozen weapons of the Yhetee's. But, golly, I have no idea where those even are now... 

Do you plan on having any bit of the gnoblar sticking out of the ice cube? Or will it be completely engulfed within it?

If it's the latter, you could maybe get away with finding a tiny plastic box, and then paint some ice shimmers along the outside of it; suspending the gnoblar would only take a bit of greenstuff and painting magic!

If it's the former... maybe you could use plasticard and build up and around the gnoblar, and then paint the outside to show the bits of gnoblar on the inside that are frozen up tight.

This is definitely a tricky idea, but would be an awesome unit filler if pulled off well. Good luck!

If you want a Gnoblar inside an ice cube then you will need to use clear resin. It can then be frosted a bit later with glass etching acid (like they use on decorative glasses and vases). I have seen this ort of thing on youtube if you look for it.

I have a very realistic idea....but involves keeping your thundertusk in the freezer   

Also a possible choking hazard if you put the wrong icecube in your scotch 

Haha I'll keep the TT in the freezer idea as a back up I think the winner would have to be the clear resin, just need to find some sort of suitable container to pour it into. Hopefully my local art store will have some! From the looks of it will have plenty left over for other cheeky ideas then too.

Cheap silicon ice cube tray or similar. Cheap because you will probably have to cut if off so wont be able to use it again. Any pound shop or similar has these things for a £1 (duh! obviously in a pound shop).

Failing that, make a plasticard box for it then chuck that away. Greenstuff would work too and the edges would be more rough.

Please post pictures of this up when you have done, I am really interested to see how this works.

You are full of the good ideas today GH a big enough ice cube tray would be perfect! I will definitely post a pic when I've finished it, I'm tempted to try added some icicles on the TT also so we will see how that goes also! sadly I'm crazy busy with work over next few weeks so not sure when I'll squeeze it in but will try my best!

I'm going to getting a lot more free time in about 2 - 3 months time and am very tempted to start my own gnoblog as all the other ones on here are very inspiring!
