My 2500 pt army list (FIRST LIST EVER)

Hi all,

Make it known to you that this is my first army list ever and i have only just started playing warhammer fantasy. So i wanted to try a monster heavy list that could actually win.

PLZ help with items, i have no idea what to put on anything. And please don't be mad if i ask a ton of questions.


Lords:

Slaughtermaster: Lvl 4 Heavens,

Bruiser: BsB

Butcher: Lvl 2 Maw,

15 ogres ironfists adh f/c

Total size without any magic items and such: 2389

Pls rate. I really want this to work

For the Wizards here is a selection of items commonly used.

Grut's Sickle, Fencer's Blades + Glittering Scales Combo, Talisman of Preservation, Armour of Destiny, Hellheart, Dispell Scroll, Power Stone, Enchanted Shield, Crown of Command.

Any of these can be put onto a Slaughtermaster or Butcher as they are allowed to wear magic armour.

Personally I use this for my Slaughtermaster

SM - Lv 4, Ironfist, Armour of Destiny, Dispel Scroll / Crown of Command OR Fencer's Blades, Glittering Scales & Crown of Command.
BSB - Heavy Armour, Enchanted Shield, Talisman of Preservation
Butcher/Firebelly - Hellheart OR something defensive such as Ironfist, Armour of Fortune, Channeling Staff.

Hunter's on Stonehorns however I've never used. Perhaps the Shield of Ptolos or Charmed Shield + Talisman of Endurance? I don't really know. I've never seen the point in sinking so many points into this Character personally.

As for your Ogre's stick with the Ironfists, don't pay for Additional Hand Weapons in large units. You lose a lot of attacks due to the supporting attacks rules. Personally though I'd put some Ironguts into the army instead of so many Ogres but that's personal preference.

PS You wont make many friends playing a unit of 4 Rhinox Riders, they are utterly filthy!

That's a hell of a lot of Ogres in a single unit which isn't generally a problem if they're sporting Leadership 9/10.  Because they're not I'd be really worried about deployment with them ensuring they aren't within 6" of anything that can die and cause a panic tests.

For whatever reason if they panic first turn and run off the board your opponent has just netted 1000 points in one swoop.  Break them up and/or get the banner of +1 leadership in their for a bit more of a package deal.
