need help vs orcs

original thread ↗

got a 2k game vs orks commin up next week.
He plays a litte bit of everything in his army.
His Arachnarok Spider is pretty much set.
Since i'm out of the game for almost a year now,
i need some advice with building my list.
i got access to almost everything.

so have fun :P

Ironblaster will help dismantle the spider and will keep it quivering behind terrain for a while I would think.  The green skins have fairly crumby initiative just like us so keep that in mind.  They can run a very effective war machine battery however so don't go underprepared.

Check out some all comer lists in the appropriate forum, put a personal spin on it and go from there.

A couple of sabretusks or gnoblars will be usful for redirecting the horde of savage orcs that will most likely be coming and for jumping on manglers and fanatics. Gorgers may also be useful for warmachines but also for  releasing fanatics behind his army.
Ogres, cause whats better than livin in the snow and drinking
Sabretusks can also be used for Warmachine hunting.  You'll need that, especially against the darn Doom Divers.

I'm pretty sure they nominate the point and direction that they get released in however so not nearly as useful as once upon a time, great for taking out war machines however.

just read the o&g book you are correct jimmy they can be released any direction.

This is the one matchup where yhetees can actually be really effective. They will go first for sure and with the -1WS will almost certainly be hitting on 3's too. With swiftstride M7 they can be up in their flanks very reliably. Of cousre maneaters will do the same too, and do it better, but if it's a fun game why not be different! :P
Game's the same, just got more fierce.

thx for all ur advice.

Appearently i'll play the Basic stuff. Meaning a big Horde, 4 MFC with Dragonhide, 6 Maneaters, 2 Ironblasters
and 3 kitties.

Seems solid, what are the maneaters running with rules and weapons?

Oh, and don't bring Mournfang Cavalry; the doom divers will slaughter them, not to mention the cheap-as-chips bolt throwers.  Maneaters are fantastic, given that they go before most Orc units.  Leadies are great too.
