Problems with Order from certain sites

Hello Guys

Firstly I wanted to let everyone know that it probably is not a good idea to order from a Website called Total Wargamer   I have had a bad experience with an order from here where only half the order was sent and a month later I still had not received the rest of the order.  I have now asked from my money back and I'm even having problems here where they are trying to say I received a more expensive item so they can refund me less for the other item I didn't receive when in actual fact it is the other way around. 
  Sadly as it turns out i am not the only one and there is a large movement on facebook regarding upset customers that have rallied together against these guys.  Also GW are not not supplying Total Wargamer as a result of all of this as of the 23rd of may this year.

I make this post post as a warning only to maybe look else where for model products.  I don't think I have broken any forum rules here but please let me know if I need to amend my post if I have.

I would also like to ask any of you guys if there is a trusted discount sites that you use and trust?  Is there customer service good?  Any input on this would be much appreciated.

Have you tried http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/games-workshop/warhammer/ogre-kingdoms/cat_15.html ?

They are cheaper than GW but not Total Wargamer. I've ordered from them in the past and had no problems.

Even though I'm on the distant shores of Australia I can recommend Triple Helix Wargaming. 

If I am being honest the most problems I have ever had have been with Wayland Games. There was a point in time when I had stuff on order that had not arrived and had ordered more things a month later that came quicker than the first lot (if that makes sense).

Not rare fancy stuff just bog standard GW ogres stuff. In the end I just stopped buying stuff off them as it became a bit of a joke between me and friends that if I order an Ironblaster/ whatever now then in two months It will have arrived and be ready for a game.

I wouldn't mind but when I have ordered everything from Wayland I always checked it was in stock, which it quite clearly wasn't.

I have had excellent service of Elemental games, Troll trader off e-bay and Firestorm games. Scibor, Kromlech and Puppets war (esp the latter) have also all done me proud. In the case of Puppets war they got me stuff sent and delivered in a day from Poland to the UK.

thumbs up from me to Trolltrader - always fast and good price. All my greenstuff from him.

Bought a Scibor Ogre from him, small defect and he sent another complete one next day.

Just so you guys are aware I finally got my refund this week.  (Yes it really took this long)

Quite simply and astonishing amount of time and being mucked about.  I implore people to not use this site (Total Wargamer) for your own sanity's sake.

Also I would like to thank you for your replies and recommendations of others sites.

Holy hell in a hand-cart!!!    Zolas; you only just got your refund?? That is pretty damn appalling by pretty much anyone's standards!

In the big scheme of things, and I know that we may not like it, but sometimes (just sometimes) it is worth biting the bullet and running the gauntlet of "hard sell teenage hell" and actually going to a GW store to get stuff. Yep, it is more expensive but they don't take months to get you stuff and for the extra £2-£8 it is actually going to cost you are avoiding the unreliability of other sites.

Can't believe it took that long for them to sort this for you Zolas. It would have been cheaper and quicker to order something from Ali Express and have it shipped on a slow boat from China. The other advantage is all them once deleted and now resin cast models they sell...naughty boys!

I can and I'm not the only one!  There's a whole heep of people that have had the same issues.  There's even a web page about it.  I will link it when I get home.  (At work atm) But yeah Total Wargamer do this regularly!

I had a similar issue with Total Wargammer, placed a order for £130 (including some Dark Elves for my brothers Birthday), put up with 2 months of excuses such as "waiting for our delivery from GW" then asked for a refund, this took another 2 months and threats of legal action (luckily I paid by credit card so could have gone through them). Would never use them again.

I placed the same order with Dark Sphere, cost about £5 more but had it within 3 days, my brother also got my xmas present from them and had it within a week, so would definatley recommend them and will be using them again myself once I have built and painted my current backlog :-)

It took me 18 months to finish a battalion box so could be a while...

I must admit I always by my stuff from the local independent gameshop. I know it's a little bit more expensive than I could probably find online, but I like the work the do to keep us happy with game nights, competitions and so on.

And I never have any problems with any orders because I know the guys and they know me.

It is my understanding that various authorities are looking into their trading practices and there is some legal action in the process of being undertaken with regards to this company.

Under those circumstances I would suggest that, on behalf of the community of the Ogre Stronghold, we don't reiterate a subject that is pretty much concluded in this thread, in relation to this particular company.

We will take it as read that the best advice that can be given to anyone is to avoid making purchases from the above mentioned company until such a time that current legal action is concluded.

Any suggestions for trusted and reputable web sites, stores, shops and other sellers would be greatly appreciated as this will promote a basis for sharing really good reliable places from which members of the Stronghold can purchase products.
