Wound Counters

What does everyone use for wound counters. Does a D6 cut it or do people design there own token. Also what is your metas local convention. In mine we count down remaining wounds instead of counting wounds taken
eg a bruiser that has taken 3 wounds its counter says 1

We just use a D6 and show remaiming wounds am tempted to make some wound counters tho

I've been using Battlemarkers Wounds Remaining tokens. They're essentially a button with a backing, a nice size, and it clearly states on it "Wounds Remaining X", so no confusion on "well the 3 is up on the die, does that mean 3 wounds remaining, or it took three wounds?"

Most folks in my area count up the wounds taken. Take a wound, get a counter. The majority of people use dice, although almost every game I see them accidentally pick one up, or forget to move it with the model. The only way I'd advocate dice is if you have a different color for wound markers and know never to roll those. For my own use I've got a collection of gravestones painted up that I pile on or next to the bases. Simple but effective.

Gravestones sound awesome! Did you greenstuff them, or were they collected, like from the Garden of Morr?

I normally just use a d6... counting wounds, so an ore with 1 wound has a '1' lying.

However I had a recent game with a guy who brought wound counters and that was great! Less confusion about what dices are in use and so after moving units. Since then I have thought more and more about getting my own. They can look good (as above) and have a good effect on the game by creating less confusion.

I use these dice from from GW but I painted the skulls red and varnished them.

I just use glass beads and count up.
In Vic most people typically use dice, using dice that are different to those you roll makes this easier.
As far as counting up or down, people do either. As long as your opponent knows what you are doing it doesn't matter.

i modeled all my bear traps on gnoblar bases for wound markers.... i mean we all have a BILLION OF THEM, right?

I use skulls from various gamesworkshop kits glued onto a small circle base that says "wounds remaining" around the edge and however many skulls on top , I mean its gamesworkshop they put skulls on EVERYTHING so I usually have a surplus and its pretty obvious then , 1 skull = 1 wound remaining 2 skulls = 2 wounds and so on and so forth , easy peasy 

I use my old D4's from my D&D playing days, aka the 80's.
