So I've just got myself about two hundred pounds of ogres to get me started, I've played High elves since I was twenty and after five long years I needed a change. And after a lot of reading online this site made my choice easy!!!! Easily one of the more enjoyable sites for any of the fantasy armies. So I've done a lot of reading and I'm excited for the change I will keep posting on my army and do regular battle reps as my friends are running a tournament with all 9 of us with new armies. So whilst I'm waiting on my models to arrive I was wondering if any of you guys have any advice to a young ogre :D and what drew you guys to the army in the first place?
Thanks for reading anyway and I look forward to any advice tidbits
Welcome to the OS, and the gnoblogging community!!

I was originally tempted by ogres purely because of fluff. I loved the " high up in the mountains feel". Very barbarian, primitive, foraging and pillaging. I love it all! Plus they are just such amazing models, so it was an easy decision for me.

My advice to you from a game standpoint is to make sure you get your charges no matter what, don't forget fear checks, never forget your impact hits, and remember your stomp attacks! Those things combined make combat rez much easier. Ogres have a nasty habit of running back to the mountains if things go bad. So you need all the combat rez you can muster.

If you need an painting advice, this will be the place to find it, we have many tutorials and videos on making your ogres look the best they can be, as well as some fun and innovative conversion ideas from many of our superbly talented members.

Can't wait to see some of your battle reports, perhaps some painting progression pictures once you receive your big order!

Cheers!!

Thanks man! I will take some pics of my force when I get em built next week. Yeah the paintings the hardest part for me my partner loves it so ended up painting my elves for me but I want the ogres to be my babies. Meaning I need to learn to paint and that makes me nervous, I recon gaming wise I will be successful I had a great win ratio with the elves although these guys are of course very different but  no one knows what I have yet and it's a very unexpected change.
I can't wait to get my tester game in vs the new wood elves in three weeks (gotta admit I'm a bit nervous of becoming a pin cushion)
So I've done the first parts of my glueing :D what's ye best way to upload as It keeps telling me the files to large?
I like food, I love eating.  There isn't really much else to say.  :)

My advice would be to master Sabretusks, they'll win you the game.  ;)

Photobucket is the way to go with photo's. Just paste the direct link on photobucket into the image tags. Failing that you can attach a file from flickr...but in all honesty, photobucket is the best way to show off them models.

Welcome to the Gnoblog community by the way!

I have to second photo bucket, I'm an idiot and clueless with this stuff but I found it simple to use.
