Welcome to my first, hopefully successful, Gnoblog attempt!
I am Henning and I live in sunny South Africa. Ive been playing warhammer for about 9 months now after I stopped playing 40k. The past years rule changes in 40k has left me disillusioned with that system and the jump to fantasy has really been a breath of fresh air. The greater tactical depth of the game turns my games into a very dynamic chessboard whereas 40k felt more like draughts.
I started with Lizardmen and currently I have approximately 5500 points worth. I decided to start Ogres mainly as I had the opportunity to purchase a sizeable, partly painted, second hand army and their play style seems significantly different to that of the Lizardmen.
In this blog I mean to post:
Pictures of my Ogre horde
Battle reports
Attempts at getting the rest of the army painted
The army I bought has some really well painted models. The previous owner made a lot of effort into getting the army unified and giving them character. Painting the remaining models up to his standard will be a challenge for me. I currently lack the patience to sit down and paint models and I see this project as a way to teach myself that virtue.
Thats that for introductions. I will post the first couple of pictures later this week.
