The team decided to set up camp in the now empty cave, seeing as it would be safer than to rely on the swamp outside. Anders attended to the parties wounds, Torg cooked some beans to eat and Lancelot described his past and his home in a city long destroyed by Chaos. The next morning, the team set out to retrieve their horses at the swamp's edge, Lancelot taking a grim expression on riding his now missing father's horse. Together they rode North-West, sticking close to the swamps' outskirts for direction. The team come to a cliff-face that slightly resembled a scowling crow if one squinted. A small waterfall poured out from what could be it's eyes, forming a stream that led to a small town many miles east. "There! That cliff is where they are hiding. I don't remember how to get in however, so any ideas?"

(sorry for the delay!) The men hear whistling, not of a bird's but of a man's. Quickly finding cover in a nearby bush, the men see a man urinate out of the eye of the rock face. "Would you shu'ddup! We are meant to be a seecret! You pissin' there ain't gonna do us any favours and if master finds out we'll be next for the hounds!" "But I'm bursting!" The second man slaps the first, who then proceeds to pull up his pants woefully. Together they go back inside. "Those men were our key inside! If we can scale the rocks we could sneak in and hopefully avoid trouble. Only thing that water is flowing slightly fast to climb...So should we climb it or look for another route?"

Anders is checking each stone and crack on the rockface for some form of a switch. Behind a hedge, Anders discovers a rusty grate with murky liquid trickling from it. The grate is large enough to accommodate the width of a man, but only in single file shall you proceed. " Great work Anders. This looks kinda....disgusting though. Do you still wanna go through?"

"I'm in! Come on, we nees to hurry!" The team enter the grate, wading slowly through gunk and foul manner. Large floating blotches would stick to their armour, leaving a disgustingly putrid smell. Nearing the end of the grate, Lancelot peeks out to scan the area. "Ok, from what I can see, could be on the ground floor, and if I remember correctly, there is a basement, but their must also be upper levels. There are 3 corridors, one leading North, another East and the final North East. There no rooms I don't think, but I can't see above or behind us."

Anders takes a ready stance, his mace in hand to bludgeon anything that may lie in wait. He opens the cage gingerly, the creaking of the rusty hinges set his teeth on edge. He looks around at his companions to see that they are waiting in anticipation. Anders steels his nerves and swings open the cage door. Once the door is opened he takes a closer look inside.

They peer in, before them a creature. It's veins were clearly visible through it's malnourished skin, it's hair plastered to it's body with grime. Upon closer inspection, it is a man, shackled and bound to the wall by rusty locks. His breathing heavy, as if great strain is placed on his lungs. "He's unconscious. What shall we do?"

Anders brandishes his Mace before Borri. It's glistens faithly in the dim light of the room making the Sigil of the Empire barely visible.
"This is Sigmarite Steel, blessed by the priests of my order. This weapon carries Sigmar's will, were it goes, I go. Be respectful Master Dwarf. Sigmar will not tolerate blastphemy and nor shall I."
Anders calms himself.
"Dwarves...." Anders thinks to himself. He hangs his mace from his belt and gestures.
"Come, we must get going. Emperor knows what these heretics are doing to the good Captain. I'll lead the way, I fear our latest companion may not be so useful without his axe. Lancelot, stay close to me."
Anders looks for an exit to the room. (Perception Test = 19, Success!)

Let's check the other rooms first and then split up into the rooms. Borri, enter the one that you listened to, I'll go into the room at the end. Anders back me up, Torg head into the 2nd left door."

"I shall pray for us."
Anders reaches under his breast plate and retrieves his prayer book, blood from the Gor he had killed a few days ago still stained the pages. "This will not do at all" He thinks to himself. The book's spine tattered and torn from use, creaks as he opens the book. He flicks through the delicate pages until he comes across a page with obscure symbols upon it. Anders holds one arm outreached and makes gestures with his hands whilst murmuring the holy scripture to himself.
Anders eyes shine with holy power. He pushes his palm out in front of him and a golden aura rushes forth, faintly lighting the aura around him.
"Stay close Lancelot, Sigmars favor shines upon us today. He shall shield you from harm. Let us be quick, I cannot maintain this for long" Anders says with a faint smile on his face
Anders tucks the worn book back under his breath plate and readies his mace which appears to be reacting to the presence of holy power infused within the air around him, it too takes on a faint golden glow. Anders follows Lancelot and moves into position by the door and takes up a ready stance. He gives Lancelot a nod.

Without a moments hesitation Anders gives Lancelot a nod. But he sees the Cultist and his pious anger builds up.
"I cannot allow these heathens to breath the same air as one of Sigmar's chosen!"
Anders can no longer contain himself, he rushes into room and readies his prayer book. With his mace in one hand and his prayer book in the other he begins to chant his prayers.
(1st Prayer Attempt = Voice of the Emperor. Roll = Wp (4+1) + 8. Success! Damage = 8 + 9 = 17!)
Anders inhales until his lungs feel like they are going to burst, he finishes his prayer. He infuses the righteous fury building within him into his lungs and lets out an almighty roar sending shock waves of holy energy all around him. Panting desperately he raises his mace towards his foe who is no doubt in shock at the rude awakening Anders has forced upon him. He chants to channel even more of Sigmar's power into his mace and takes aim, taking a breath between each verse Anders struggles to finish his prayer.
(2nd Prayer attempt = Sword of the Empire. Roll = Wp (4+1) + 8 = 13. Success! Damage = 9 + 6 = 15!)
The holy energy that had been building reaches it's crescendo, his mace burns with bright, raw power. The aura forms into that of a burning sword. With a flick of his wrist the sword takes it's final form and soars towards the Cultist. Anders falls to his knees, utterly drained. He didn't realize drawing upon so much of Sigmar's might could be so exhausting. He forces himself to his feet and prepares for the fighting that will no doubt ensue.

"Ok.... A little louder than expected... We need to move quickly less we be discovered. Hide the bodies under the beds, I'l search the rooms." The team move the corpses remains under the bed frame, covering the bloodied sheets with with furs on the floor and turning the pillows. Lancelot searches thoroughly, and discovers a rusty key. "Looks interesting, I'll hang on to it. Ok everyone, lets move before we are caught!" The team hurry down the right corridor, discovering a staircase, it leads both upstairs and down. "Where to? We can split up, and rendezvous back here if possible, or we can stick together."

Anders bursts into a small hallway. On either sides of the hall are large cages. The bars have been mostly corroded by damp, but all are locked by a fairly strong padlock. Counting 6 cages, Anders investigates each cage. In one, a skeletal corpse hangs from the ceiling, strung up by all fours. In the other 5, are starved, bruised and filthy captives. Each sleeping, but all clearly breathing.

I've been using some old Inquisitor dice that have a D10 and a D10 which is multiples of 10 so when rolled together you get (using my Agi test as an example) 10 + 8, you could also roll a 70 + 5. So on and so forth.)

Exactly, the scheme is D100 plausible, but a little part of the luck is in choosing which die will be a unit/ten, as this can influence a failure or a success.

Anders sees the man beating Cortez and feels his anger rise. Rather than give away his position by charging in he decides first to channel his fury and infuse it with Sigmar's might. Anders infuses his power into his left hand, his mace in his right he kicks open the door and shouts out to the brute.
"Oi! Get your hands off him heathen!"
Sword of the Empire Attempt No. 1 = WP (4+1) + 3 = 8 Success! Damage Roll = 4 + 8 = 12

With a look of pure anger in his eyes Anders hastily completes his prayers. With his left hand held out infront of him he unleashes the built up power within him at the enemy. He creates two flaming swords of pure holy power which soar through the air at blinding speed and strike the foe. Due to his size Anders can't tell what... if any damage this has done but it has certainly gained his attention.

Well you are knocked down, so you can spend an action to get up, or you can fight the dude, who is also on the gorund. He's not very durable, as he is really more like a Marauder Seargent of Khorne, but he does have Arcane Resistance so melee is your best bet. "Stupid idiot." Standing to his feet Lancelot charges the man, however, stumbling over his comrades and merely trips the enemy.

Cortez starts gaining conciousness again for the third or fourth time today. His eyes still closed and his entire body bruised and hurting he wonders why the punches have stopped landing on him. As his mind starts clearing he can hear voices and the sounds of a fight...

Don't worry I got it! Borri rips off some slime from the beast, and with a heave, sprints towards Anders. The Beast focuses on Cortez, pounding his fists into him. Cortez can take a single dodge test (under Agility) to negate 7 out of 14 damage.

(Sorry I haven't been on in awhile, finals and Thanksgiving have been taking up most of my time. Looks like everything is on fire......so that's a plus). Running is a perfectly viable strategy. You don't have to stand and fight off an army anymore than something particularily bothersome. (Of course you can't run from everything!) The main risk from running, is if you are caught, your opponnents get 2 turns to attack.

The beast dissolves into the stoney floor, gurgling low hums as it dies. The team catch their breath and ready themselves. They hear footsteps approach. They ready their weapons, when the figure of Lancelot emerges into the light. "By Sigmar am I glad to see you all alive. By the state of your wellbeing, you encountered one of those beasts as I did? Their hide is thick, but they seem to keel to fire. This maze extends up on ahead, there should be an exit there...hopefully." The team progress slowly into the labyrinth, paying close attention to their surroundings. The grumbles of beasts can be heard, but for now the team is safe.

"Come, I have something of interest to you all." The team navigate some passageways that Lacelot explained was a way he heard some prisoners escaped. They tried to tread quietly, however the cracking of failed escapees rang out in the darkness. Near the end of the passageway was a dead-end, with 3 barrels loaded with explosive jelly. Similiar to the kind used in the Empire, Anders amd Cortez both looked at each other. "Alas, before the deed is done, Borri, I found a blade suitable to your stature. May it serve you well." Lancelot hands Borri an Axe. "Who will do the honours?"

"Cortez... You know what that is don't you?" Anders asks rhetorically.
"Torg, you've been itching to blow something up. Toss one of your grenades at those barrels and take cover quickly! I shall do what I can to offer us some protection from the blast." Anders says as he rushes for a safe place to hide. Once in a safe place he channels the power of Sigmar to protect his friends.
"All this blowing things up and bashing our way through hallways really isn't the way I'm used to, but I suppose we are in deep already."
Cortez heads for cover as well.

(Sorry for the delay) With a thunderous boom, a gaping hole is created in the side of the rockface fort. Recovering from the shock, the team take a leap of faith into the water below. Plunging deep into a pool, the team rise, gasping for breath. They quickly make haste to Rordenstaff, hoping they are not too late.
MISSION SUCCESS
Well everyone, that was one helluva long mission. I'm sorry if I lost ye during it, but it gets slightly quicker from here on. Everyone will receive 750 Gold to purchase new shtuff, and everyone will increase their level by 1. I'll have a new thread up in a few hours so bare with me. Good work guys
