Sinnocent - Chaos Ogres of Slaanesh

original thread ↗

love the paint scheme, but I think the bases are too plain, with the talent you show in the painting, put some of that talent into the bases.
An awesome bunch of blokes SilverWarlock.
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.
I just LOVE the gore effects you make! It looks very much like the real thing. Could you reveal the secrets of making such wonderful gore?
I love the bases. I think there's a  really rich, realistic snow effect to them. The blood spatter on ther iron guts and the shama's orb are also particularly noteworthy and good. I look forward to seeing the enxt batch painted!

thanks

the blood splatters are actually pretty simple

take a 50/50 mix of red ink and chesnut ink, paint the very gory parts lightly (I usually paint them rub it off a bit)

then you take an old toothbrush, dip it in the ink mix, and spray the metal up close, usually from the blade side so it scatters out

thats how the little dots get all over

I usually do the weapons and all the blood first on the weapons, so I can re basecoat the model afterwards (because there are blood splatter on the skin and pants and stuff

thanks for the comments guys

anyone have a way of painting gnoblars? after the big guys I just cant seem to do little critters anymore lol
I love the models and colourscheme.  I particularly like the gory detail on the weapons; those blood splatters are great.  Maybe some blood splatters on the snowy bases?  The models themselves are very intimidating, but it doesn't really look like they're fighting on a battlefield with perfect snow on the ground.  But if that's not the effect you're going for, then ignore my comment!  Good work, and nice conversion on the butcher.
i love the shaman and the new weapons you have added to the models.Im especialy liking the tentacles on the shamans back i canm just imagine them flicking about feeding on the winds of magic and giving the shaman his spellcasting power
"i dont do small armies"

Thread necromancy.

It's the Invocation of Nix-video-games.

Anyways, after 2 years, much drinking, too many video games and meeting a solid girlfriend (which reduces the interest of the drinking and greatly increases the benefits of ditching video games) I am back to warhammer.

As I am but a poor student (actually very poor, hoping for a promotion to poor soon) I am back to this army I entirely own.mThe army seems to have survived the move, even the Tyrant conversion. So I will get the camera back up, complete my painting apparatus (I don't even know if I own a decent brush anymore and I am sure the paints are dead by now).

The army list should not be changing (due in part to the models and because I had spent a hundred or so hours optimizing the damn thing).

I do have some small budget for paints and I may be able to borrow paints from my brother so now it's down to finding time and getting it all set up which shouldn't take me more than a day or two.

I figured I'd get the thread back up, update coming soon.
