Hello Everybody!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and just wanted to say hi.

I've been playing 40k almost exclusively for a while up to until about last September (which is when I realised that I now HATE the game!) and made the permanent switch to Fantasy. I have played with a few armies and have finally settled on Ogres as my main army a couple of months ago as I think they are the most fun to play with! I already have about 4k of them and I have set myself a challenge to go to my first ever Fantasy tournament in November - so I will be getting loads of practice with them and making sure they are all fully painted!

Anyway... that's me!

Hi and welcome to the stronghold. 4K sounds like a pretty sizable army already; are these guys painted? If not then your progress in painting the army would be interesting not only to me but to other members too.

Feel free to start a Gnoblog and lets us know the progress not only of painting but of how you get on in the tournament. There are loads of people who can help out with lists and give advice on what units to use against what armies. Not only that but you can find loads of help on painting and modelling this 4k army too.

I bought the majority of it unpainted (about 1k was painted - but to an AWFUL standard..  )

I was actually off work sick for about 6 weeks and I've already managed to paint the majority of it!! (SO MUCH QUICKER THAN PAINTING HIGH ELVES haha).

I will put some pictures up and update on the remaining models 

With lists, I think I've been changing it like crazy between every game but my friends have now advised me to pick one and stick with it for at least 4 games instead of making changes all the time to see how it fares.

I'll be sure to let you all know how it does

errr finally got round to an actual count and it turns out I have 6400 points!!! And 4k has already been painted since I first started (beginning of march)

I am still after almost 2 years happy with the ogres. Yes, it is a strong army if you want to push it hard, but overall the armybook allows you to field so many different types of armies with various units making up for hours of fun.

Ask around if there you have questions and so : )

Welcome to the forum! I Hope you can take the time to make a gnoblog about your ogre endeavours, whether its Painting or Battle reports or Both!!

Glad you picked ogres as your army, they are an eye draw for sure, fun to play and pretty easy to learn.

I will indeed be doing a gnoblog in the near future, just as soon as I get everything out and take pictures of them! And a few of my tournament vet friends are doing some batreps with me to help me improve and I'll be sure to share!

Finally got round to starting my gnoblog out. Please feel free to have a look and to let me know what you think! Also any comments on how to improve the gnoblog in general would be appreciated.

Welcome to the strong hold!

I can think of you thing straight away if you go to your profile setting you can set up your Gnoblog link so it will appear on the left hand side of every one of your posts.


As you can see here on mine the Word Gnoblog in grey will appear for you too.  This is missed often by a fair few on the forums but it allow quick access to your Gnoblog now matter where you post.
