Greetings

Greetings from sunny Florida.   I am new to this site.  I regularly play 40k so when I wanted to start a fantasy army I wanted an army with a small model count.   In 40k I have about an 8000 point orks army and painting several hundred greenskins drove me insane and lead me quickily away from ever doing a horde army in the near future.

I saw a lot of potential for conversions, which has been one of my loves in 40k.   I did play fantasy back in 4th edition and that was the last time I played until about a week or so ago when a friend contacted me and asked me to play.   I found 8th edition a lot of fun and am looking forward to building up and painting up my army.

Hopefully will get the gears going and get my army completed and hoping this site will help to motivate me to get my army table top ready.

Its a great time to get into fantasy with 9th looming around the corner! Hope you stick around and find the time to make some topics and ask the community any questions you desire. If you doing any battles or painting, I encourage everyone to make a gnoblog and get some followers to share your warhammer excitement!

Welcome to the stronghold. There is literally loads of advice available here from people who know the Ok army inside and out, no question is too silly and we are more than happy to answer anything you can throw at us.

Gnoblogs are a great idea as they are a good way of maintaining momentum whilst building an army and they show everyone where you are at and can lead to others helping out with lists and advice on painting and gaming.
Everyone loves a good battle report as well as seeing your army slowly grow, so don't be afraid to report back the great triumphs your Ogre army has as it smashes the faces of the lesser armies into the dust!

If you like visual aids then the video section of the stronghold is currently being re-vamped, so you are just in time to be able to sit down with a mighty feast of meat and beer and watch others as they guide you through their destruction of the other Warhammer armies or provide sound advice with modelling and painting.

Loads of great gaming/ torney advice too, so you should be able to find everything you need. If you find you need any help with anything at all then you can also contact one of the Stronghold Guard who can always point you in the right direction with any queries about the forum or Ogres in general.
