I have always liked the whole frost ogre theme so i thought i would come up with a character simillar to the fire belly but with ice
Frost Belly 150 pts M WS BS S T W I A Ld 6 3 3 4 5 5 2 4 9
level 1 wizard Lore of Heavens may be upgraded to level 2 for 35pts Numbing aura Any model in base contact with the Frost Belly or its mount are -1 to hit and all combat attacks are magical Due to the freezing aura surrounding the Frost Belly he has a 5+ ward save Freezing breath The Frost Belly has a strength 3 breath weapon and any unit hit has the always strike last special rule until the end of the opponents next turn. May be mounted on a thundertusk for 250 pts
Well what do you think, what should i change

First thing I noticed is that this guy has 5 wounds, whereas I'm pretty certain that a Firebelly only has 4.
Second, the combination of abilities is quite a bit better than on the Firebelly for only a handful more points. I'd drop the ward save entirely, as the Firebelly's ward only applies against Flaming attacks, and the Freezing Aura is frankly already better (arguably the breath weapon is better too). Is the Aura rule you used copied from the Yhette's? Been a while since I looked at their rules. If it's not I'd change it over to whatever theirs is. So essentially the Aura from Yhettes, the breath weapon from the Dragonhide banner (which I think you have copied over) and the points as they are. Could be a fun and flavorful character.

Yeah the 4 wounds was an oversight i will change it to 4. THe numbing is aura is what the yhettees should have and yes the breathweapon is from the dragonhide banner. The reason i did that is that they are in the book already so they are already balanced.

Don't yhetees have swiftstride? If so your frost belly should have that too.

I don't think it should have ld 9. It should be 8 like a firebelly. Also, the 5+ ward save is way to powerful. Maybe that freezing aura surrounding him gives him a +2 to armor save?

A firebelly has leader 7 so i will change that on him as well, i really like that idea of +2 armour save on him. Swift stride would bea great idea i didn't think of that

Whilst I love the idea of a frost themed ogre caster and what you have said so far seems great and more or less balanced I think that what appealed most about the firebelly is that it was a lore that was not available to our butchers/slaughtermasters wheras heavans is now I cant think of any alternative apart from the creation of a whole new lore but that's going abit over the top for a single model so unless anyone else has any other ideas seems pretty good to me but that's just my 2 pence

I like this idea too.
Maybe to balance out the low points cost for those abilities the Frost Belly could be flammable and would work fluff wise too

Throw flammable in as a consolation prize for the nay-sayers who are always willing to throw hatred at home-brew rules.
I agree it's slightly too good for your intended points value and that the combination of abilities is just a few too many for an ogre. If you're determined to keep the breath weapon which is admittedly cool and fluffy, I would absolutely scrap the ward save as it's pretty much overpowered from the off. 6+ at most if you're determined. To make everything -1 to hit you is enough to make most units seriously consider their chances.

I like the idea. Brings to mind the Warhammer Armies: Kislev, that was released some years ago. Nice
However, like the others have said, there is a bit too much power for points. Like Belchfist mentioned above, the -1 to hit is quite enough, but combining it with a Ward Save makes it a bit too powerful. The flammable could work, and that could quite easily be incorporated into the fluff. "He likes the cold, so fire makes him melt..." but in more fancy words
Keep at it, and this could become a nice home-made character idea

Too god to be true at 150pts... He isn't also a large rat like creature is he?
Drop the LD, make him flammable, and I think you would have a pretty decent character. Keep the ward, but not against flaming attacks. Would balance out well I think.

The magic make it like they have the high elves and have the first of the spells automatically be ice shard blizzard , I like regen(5+) and only have swiftstride if with yhettes, seems to fit fluff
