Warhammer Forge

original thread ↗

Read this on warseer last week but apparently Warhammer Forge will no long producing new models which is very sad however the existing range they have will continue to be sold.

 :x

Bit annoying however it comes back down to the 40k/HH deal being so successful.

They really misjudged what their market for fantasy was. They made monsters that had such limited use that for most players they would only see the table once a season, if that. The only people buying them are die hard collectors and Chaos Dwarf players. Real shame about it, a lost opportunity to make higher end alternative models or upgrade kits that GW didn't sell along with more themed expansions/campaigns
Game's the same, just got more fierce.

Yeah this is a major missed opportunity.

My only hope for this, is that it's a little off base. I've heard this rumour pretty much solidly for the last two years, and it never materialised. Just gotta hope this is the same :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
I see the Chaos War Mammoth has been pulled from sale - I had planned to buy one of those some day to convert for my Ogres :( Second hand prices will no doubt be astronomical in the future, so I doubt I'll get one now

Edit: in fact, I'm going to buy 3 Rhinox Riders now in case they get pulled some day too.
I was really hoping for a Shard Dragon; figured it would completement my Ogres nicely :(
I actually am devastated by this. I loved their work.

I never actually believed this would ever happen. I have heard this rumor for about 3 years now and have always ignored it because it doesn't make any business sense to pull stuff.

like Hragged I was hoping to get a Chaos Warmammoth, but more over I really wanted the bonegaint/ Warhammer giant and worse than that I wanted to get a unit of 12 Fimir to use as ironguts.

This is not counting the fact that I am trying to build a Chaos Dwarf army (so need all them models) and I was hoping to gather units of plague ogres and nurgle trolls.

looks like I am screwed because, if this rumour is true, then there is no way in hell I can buy all this stuff before they pull it. I can only pray that unscrupulous Chinese companies copy these things and I can get the models off them instead.

All this just makes me despise 30k/40k more than I already do!

Forge World is sending out emails denying that Warhammer Forge is dead and saying they will continue to make new models:
Thank you for your email. There is no truth to this rumour. We have no plans to stop producing the models in our Warhammer Forge range. We will continue to design and produce new Warhammer Forge models.

We do regularly review our model ranges and this can mean discontinuing some items. Unfortunately we need to do this every so often, if we did not we would have no capacity to produce new models or stock space to store them. This means that some kits may go out of production but we have no plans to stop the Warhammer Forge range.

So some of the kits have gone (like the Mammoth) but Warhammer Forge lives on at least.
Hopefully it knocks a bit of sense into their heads that their market thought so little of them that they swallowed a rumour like this hook line and sinker. Hint hint, maybe pay them a little more attention

I'd love to see Forge World have a go at making some themed Maneaters. Or a different Tyrant sculpt even!
Or maybe an actual bruiser model to turn into a BSB?
Nice to know that's still up and running but I'm still on the fence personally even though it's in writing.  I hope I'm wrong.  :)

If this is true I hope they have the decency to actually create models for the rules they have already had released for years. I could understand if they stopped after that but I really wanted to see a model for the Khemric Titan. Only time will tell, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
Was overjoyed to read these rumours have been debunked by FW themselves. Now if only they take inspiration from these events and do what they do best - produce alternative units, weapons, upgrade packs and specifically cool individual models and character for the various races of the Warhammer world, they would make a LOT of money. I for one would be buying everything under the sun if it was Ogres or any Chaos army...
