Here is the list I have come up with using Swedish Comp which is nasty on the Ogres.
Lords 345 (-20)
Army General:
Slaughtermaster Lvl 3, Lore of the Maw, Fencers Blades, Greedy Fist, Channelling Staff, Iron Curse Icon (-20)
Heroes 391 (-40)
Bruiser, BSB, HA, Charmed Shield, Sword of Striking, Talisman Endurance (-19)
Firebelly Lvl 2, XHW, Dispel Scroll, Ruby Ring (-21)
Core 627 (-34)
10 Gnoblars with trappers & Groinbiter (-2)
8 Bulls IF, FC (-16)
8 Bulls IF, FC (-16)
Special 1026 (-50)
3 Mournfangs, HA, IF, Muso (-19)
4 Leadbelchers, Muso (-10)
4 Leadbelchers, Muso (-10)
8 Yhetees (-11)
Rare 200 (-2)
Giant (-2)
2499pts 300-146 = 15.4
I added an extra unit of trappers in because I was facing 2.8k of Ratties.
Deployment (Skaven right to left)
Warplightning Cannon, Hellpit, Clan Rats with Warlord, Clan Rats Warlord (Fellblade), Screaming Bell (Grey Seer Army general), Slaves, Slaves, Giant Rats, Giant Rats, Hellpit, 8 Rat Ogres, WLC (2 units 6 Gutter Runners held off in ambush).
Spells: 2 Ruin, 2 Plague: Death Frenzy, Howling Wargale, Vermintide, Wither.
Ogre deployment (left to right)
Mournfangs, Yhetees, Bulls (with SM, BSB), Bulls (Firebelly), Giant behind (Bulls), Gnoblars, Gnoblars, Leadbelchers, Leadbelchers.
Spells: Fire: Fireball, Flaming Cage, Maw: Stubborn +! Strength, Magic Missile (not the best)
The Plan
Being outnumbered the plan was to refuse the right and centre and push most of the force up the left. The giant was kept behind the main battle line as a reserve and to help reduce the cannon sniping.
I wasn't to worried about the Skaven Magic. Early on I wanted to stop Howling Wargale to allow my Leadbelchers to do their job. Later on this wouldn't be a problem as it would affect the Gutter Runners.
Wither was the key spell I didn't want the Skaven to cast so most of the dispel dice could be saved for this.
Terrain
There was a river crossing over half the board which I hoped to use to my advantage. Hence my deployment slightly left to get around the river.
Turn 1
The Ogres got the +1 to go first and took the first turn. The Mournfangs and Yhetees pushed forward on the left. The Bulls pushed up at half speed in order to get some Magic off. Gnoblars marched towards the rivers edge. Leadbelchers moved up far enough to take shots at the Rat Ogres causing 5 wounds. The Firebelly focused on one of the Hellpits inflicting 2 wounds and getting Flame Cage off on the Fellblade Warlords unit.
Skaven
Pretty much pushed forward everywhere apart from the Flame Caged unit which sat still. The right hand WLC blew itself up which saved it from being killed by the Mournfangs. Magic: I ended up scrolling Howling Wargale to enable my Leadbelchers to be effective.
Turn 2
Leadbelchers pulled back on the right inflicting more wounds on the Rat Ogres. Gnoblars pushed up to the rivers edge, the second unit tried to re direct the Hellpit on the Skavens left.
Mournfangs charged the Hellpit (mistake) which had 2 wounds from Fire spells, the Mournfangs won the comabt but lost a model in the process. Ogre unit with BSb and SM charged into the right hand clan rat block but blocked the Yhetees in the process
. Firebelly inflicted 2 wounds on the re-directed Hellpit.
Skaven
Giant Rats charged the Firebellies unit. WLC knocked off some wounds on the Leadbelchers. Slaves charged across the river losing 14 models from 2 units due to difficult terrain tests (shame they weren't clan rats), the gnoblars broke from combat and managed to out run both slave units. The other Hellpit charged and killed the second gnoblar unit running them down. The other Hellpit killed the last 2 Mournfangs
but was left on 1 wound. The Fellblade unit swung around the right to support the hellpit. Skaven Magic: got death frenzy off on the Clan Rat unit in combat with the SM's Ogres however the Skaven still lost combat but past their break test.
1 unit of Gutter runners arrived causing 2 wounds on the Yhettees.
Ogre Turn 3
Leadbelchers quick reformed pulling back and had whittled the Rat Ogres down to 2 Models. Yhetees charged the Hellpit on the Skaven right finishing off the last wound and overrunning into the Fellblade unit
. Firebellies unit killed the remaining giant rats.
Skaven
Second Gutter Runner unit arrived behind the Leadbelchers and killed a model (Belchers past their Leadership test).
Vermintide went through 3 Ogre units but failed to do any damage.
Yhetees killed the BSb and won the combat. Skaven Slaves chased the gnobs off the board while the second slave unit reformed to face the Ogre Bulls. Hellpit tried charged and killed the closest unit of Leadbelchers.
Turn 4
to be continued.....
Lessons learned
Mournfangs are good but fragile, avoid multi wound attacks such as Hellpits, Fellblades, Doomwheels, etc..
The Channeling Staff slips through the comp and gives that little boost to Magic which is often needed.
I am unsure the Greedy fist and Ruby Ring are needed in this list with 2 Fire spells already and the Greedy Fist is quite expensive. I may be better off making the SM a Level 4 and try to squeeze in another Gnoblar unit.
