I know this runs contrary to popular belief, but not every single wargaming concept needs to have its own clever abbreviation

... Everyone could tell what this thread was about with "Maneater Star" in the title, right?
Joakim- I'll seriously pledge $30 U.S. towards you or anyone else converting and painting an actual Villiage People Manstar with disco ball. Half now, half when you post the pictures, and I'll vow to happily embrace the term Manstar now and for all time. Ahem, anyhow...
I just finished painting up my Lustrian Adventurers to seven strong, and have been running them with swiftstride and poison, which seemed appropriate; 2x great weapons, 5x brace, with command and +1 movement banner. Granted, it's technically not a Deathstar without characters, but extrapolate what you will from my experience thus far:
Vs Vampires: Zombie/Skeleton hoards with necromancers spamming Invocation, Terrorgheist support. These guys blew through his army faster than he could raise them, and racked up more kills in one game than most of my units have in their careers. Poor shriek rolls on his part saved them early on, and by the time they started taking heavy losses from it they had crippled his army single handed. Swiftstride made all the difference, both with extra impact hits and overrunning his chaff much further than he expected.
Vs Gun Dwarfs: The good news is, they draw a lot of fire away from the rest of your army. The bad news is I'd have rather had the shooting going at the rest of my army. I needed better target saturation here.
Vs (mainly) CC Dwarfs: Striking before they do makes all the difference. The maneaters fall eventually, but not before doing frightening amounts of damage. I think with some Mournfang in close support they will dominate. As is they get ahead of the rest of my force too far.
Brace doesn't seem to be as useful as I had hoped, but this is mainly due to how good they are in CC, and how vulnerable they are to shooting themselves. I'm switching to single pistol for most of them, which is still a good value over AHW I think. With actual regen gone from the Hydras, I don't really need flaming banner as much, so I'm sticking with movement for now.
