THE DROPGUTS LONGDROP TRIBE
It made his eyes water, it did. When Dropguts Longdrop watched his 3rd tribe in as many months disintegrate on a dwarf shield wall and become ever so slightly annihilated. He decided enough was enough and high tailed it out of the battlefield. He managed to coerce a small core of bulls, belchers and guts to sneak off with him. And thus he escaped a rather undignified slaughter that was the talk of dwarf strongholds and kingdoms for miles around.
After a few weeks of wandering (aka hunting and gathering) in the wilderness he stumbled across a group of leaderless bulls that were having a jolly good time roasting an entire herd of beef cattle that they called : spoils of war. A new term he hadnt heard of before. Aftersome bellowing and general banter a few of the bulls didnt agree with his group having some left overs and thus joined the roasted cattle in their rightful place in life as ogre chow.
It took an hour or two for Dropguts to cotton on to the fact that the leaderless bulls were of a different colour to his lot and he began to ponder the situation. It took a while to do this. The bulls had been thinking the same and asked why his group had a green ting. Again it took a small amount of general club bashing and the loss of an arm or four before Dropguts began to cotton onto the fact his lot were rather fond of gnoblars and other greenskins in an edible sort of way. It was generally decided that that was why Dropguts and co ( you are what you eat, you know) were green tinged and the bulls were a normal colour. 'Normal' to them was lying about in the sun after a good skull smash drinking brew and generally getting a good tan.
Dropguts named them the Bull Blacks and they became a hard arsed lot subject to dishing out a good thrashing to anyone who looked tasty.
His lot became the 'Green Backs' and generally followed up the other lot in a dust up causing as much damage as possible, tenderising the meat and getting it ready for the evening meal.
It was and is a partnership made in the Maw as the saying goes.
