Deployment
----------

Turn 1 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Magic phase is 9 vs 5, Firestorm does no damage to something, whilst Gateway does 3D6 S10 hits on the Stonehorn leaving a crater.  Ouch.  Sabretusk

runs.

Turn 1 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Sabretusk runs off table.

Turn 2 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Skullcrushers into the Ironguts.  Magic phase results in nothing.  Skullcrushers kill 3 Ironguts for only 4 wounds in return.  Massive airswinging

Ogres.

Turn 2 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Mournfang into the flank of the Skullcrushers.  Leadbelchers put 3 wounds onto the Chimera.  Skullcrushers are dispatched but only 3 Ironguts and

Characters remain.

Turn 3 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Magic Phase is a 7 vs 5, Bolt of change kills a Leadbelcher whilst Gateway leaves a single remaining.  Fire breath wounds.

Turn 3 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Charge and kill Chimera.

Turn 4 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

7 vs 5 magic phase, magic kills an Irongut and wounds each of the characters.

Turn 4 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Everything charges into the Warriors and impact hits account for zero wounds.  Oh dear.  Tyrant challenges the enemy BSB to no avail whilst each side

takes 4 wounds.

Turn 5 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Massive air swings all around, my BSB is killed, MFC break and the Tyrant is chased down and I concede for the second time in less than 1 hour.  Ouch.

Result - Warriors of Chaos Victory

Conclusion - Damn.  I'm not doing myself any favours in the 1500 point department it seems!  :)  Damn that Infernal Gateway.  At least the multi charge looked great.  I think I should have challenged with the IG champion, and done some casualties onto the rank and file but man my brother can roll his 5+ wards like a boss.  No getting around that.

I feel your pain.

Not sure if the 5+ parry from Tzeentch is worse than the -1 to hit from Nurgle, but they are both painful.

It sounds like you are just getting really bad luck on your rolls.  Tactically, it seemed like you were doing pretty well.
Unlucky mate on the two attempts. You know what they say about hindsight? This is the list I would have used, if using a tyrant as the General:

Lords (305 points)
Tyrant (305 points)
HA, Enchanted Shield, Sword of Striking, Talisman of Preservation, Giantbreaker

Heroes (294 points)
BSB (165 points)
GW, HA, Crown of Command, Dragonhelm

Firebelly (129 points)
GW

Core (376 points)
Gnoblars (25 points)

7 x Ironguts (351 points)
FC, Standard of Discipline, Look-out Gnoblar

Special (354 points)
4x Leadbelchers (172 points)

2 x Mournfang Cavalry (140 points)
Bellower, Heavy Armour, Ironfists

Sabretusk Pack (21 points)
Sabretusk Pack (21 points)

Rare (170 points)
Ironblaster (170 points)

Total 1499 points

Changes made:
By my calculations your army total comes to 1459, so you have not used up 41 points!

(1) I would nearly always swap the IF for an Enchanted Shield (same price but gives you +2 to your armour save instead of +1).
(2) Why has the BSB only got light armour? Upgrade to HA and give him the Dragonhelm.
(3) Swap the Stonehorn for an IB.
(4) Swap one IG to a FB with GW and add a look-out gnoblar.
(5) Add one unit of gnoblars.
(6) Remove the bellower from the LBs

You have +1 to attempts to dispel.
You can use the FB’s signature spell to burn that Sorcerer Lord to death!
Alternatively you could grapeshot him with the IB.
You have a way of dealing with regeneration (Chimera?)
Third time lucky?
Thanks for the comments Badmarsh although I must warn you at no time am I playing competitively or a WAAC list (which I'm not stating you've presented here either).  The reason I took all the above choices was for the simple reason that I wanted to.  I wanted exposure to the Stonehorn to see what the unit is like.

Thanks for the comments once again.  ;)
