Deployment
----------

Turn 1 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Ironguts secure the building.  Leadbelchers put 2 wounds onto the Chimera.

Turn 1 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Magic phase is a 7 vs 6 phase, bolt of change is allowed through onto the Stonehorn doing no damage letting me dispel Infernal Gateway at the same target.

Turn 2 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Leadbelchers do a single wound to the Chimera.

Turn 2 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Skullcrushers and friends remove the Sabretusks.  Magic phase is a 4 vs 1, Infernal Gateway does 4 wounds onto the Leadbelchers.

Turn 3 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Stonehorn and the Mournfang Cavalry charge however only the latter makes it.  I do 5 wounds and in return take no damage however the Warriors stick around and reform.

Turn 3 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Magic phase is a 7 vs 3.  Treason goes up onto the Mournfang whilst Infernal Gateway goes off onto the Ironguts.  Chimera toasts a Leadbelcher and it runs off.  Mournfang takes a wound for two back however it's not enough and they run allowing the warriors to crash into the rear of the Ironguts.  Ouch.

Turn 4 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

Stonehorn cleans up the Chimera.  I lose combat by 1 but apparently rolling 11 twice doesn't account for much in Warhammer, my Ironguts are trampled into dust.  :(

Turn 4 - Warriors of Chaos
--------------------------

Magic phase is an 8 vs 4, Bolt of Change does nil to the Stonehorn however I'm powerless to stop Infernal Gateway from doing an impressive 5 strength 9 wounds onto the Stonehorn, I then fail a warpflame test and he is killed.  Absolute disaster!

Turn 5 - Ogre Kingdoms
----------------------

I concede.

Result - Warriors of Chaos Victory

conclusion:  Ouch in a big way.  I just got my backside kicked all the way there and back again.  Failing that crucial break test what slightly annoying but anyway not much I can do about it.  I feel this game was lost because of two dice rolls, the Stonehorn failing a comfortable 12" charge and of course the other being 'Jimmy's Ultimate Guide to Failing Break Tests'.  :)  What a nightmare!  I felt the plan was going well, secure the tower to pop the unit out back in latter turns to cause some damage, move the sabretusks up to deal with the Skullcrushers for a bit whilst the shooting elements of the army chipped off wounds of various things whilst advancing.  I don't think I took that bad damage in terms of magic so I can't really say having a level 4 would have made that much of a difference but logically I would have had the +4 to dispel so it could have made a difference in terms of the Treason spell going up.  Lots to ponder on and unfortunately this 1500 point list might indeed be the ultimate suckage!  :p

Thanks for reading.

Good rep, sorry about the whiffs.  On a side note, you gave your tyrant an iron fist.  Why not give him the enchanted shield for the same point value?  You didn't give it to your bsb and he already has a ward so no parry.  This is a minor detail but I thought I'd mention it.
The enemy of my enemy is my double enemy.

Gut magic:  The art of eating what nobody else wants to eat, just to see what happens.
Terrible luck in that game for sure.  Thanks for sharing.  :)

Trust me Zolas, these battles are the really difficult ones to share!  But the key is to take away something from each loss or several things in my case and work on them.

Working on another battle report, same lists and table.

Unlucky game!  Strategy certainly seemed sound, but clearly the dice didn't agree.  Thanks for the write up.
