My dear fatties!

I have after some time of painting other armies and found that none of the races have kept my attention enough to finish painting them. I prefer the painting but i want to paint something that i also like to play and have fun with. So i have had my Ogre kingdoms for a while and i love painting but i never got around to it because time is scarce.
But i did start painting my Lizardmen but the new book did not really capture my interest and i just needed to move on. I hope to finish painting my army until the new Bretonians comes around hopefully with the new Fantasy rulebook.

Anyway i have painted two Ironguts as you can see. They are not 100% completed im still waiting for my bases that i ordered and i might ad some blood to the sword and some blood spatter in the face.

So let me know what you think!

P.S i know the photos are shit but i got a shitty camera so go figure.

Looking good! Welcome to the stronghold
Reminds me so much of my painting! Great minds!  8)

Sweet! I really like these ones. Nice natural colors, solid painting and what catches my eye the most is the shading. I keep looking at the skin, boots and the pants. Very smooth. Reddish armor pieces reminds me of orcs, but that's nothing to worry 'bout! :D

About the blood spatters? I'm not that big fan of it. I mean, yes I like using blood as an effect when trying to bring out the great savageness of the model, like ghouls, blood thirsty monsters, gorgers, etc.  But I like to keep that in great contrast to "normal" soldiers. Ogres are generally quite brutal compared to many races, but I hope you get what I mean. :D
I just want to say that English ain't my mother tongue, so it is far from perfect and I can just hope that you guys can understand me. And feel free to point out my spelling errors or major grammatical mistakes :]
Thank you guys!

Yeah the armors is not quite that red its more rust but i hope that i will get some good pictures when they rest of the ironguts are falling in line. I think they will look quite striking when all of the ogres are painted.

I might do a few ironguts and then paint something ells just to keep the interest in painting and avoiding painters cramp.

I will let you guys know when i have something new and interesting to show you.
Thanks again for your kind words!
They look great! A really solid paintjob.

How do you make paint that armor?
Good solid skin work and the armour really stands out. Really like these so far, will be watching for more.

Thank you two for your comments it is much appreciated.

The rust effect on the weapons and armor are made with a series of stippled colors and washes.
I would make a tutorial at some point later on.

I will take new pictures when i have painted the bases and the third irongut...also when we actually have sun out so the colors comes out right.
Very nice job. Very crisp and clean. Striking armor too.

Have to agree with the others, really nice and crisp painting! The armour is also very striking! Great work :)

Can't wait to see some more, keep up the good work! :D

You seem to be challenging me for the title of Smiley Overlord with all your smileys
Love the painting on these guys mate. What style bases you gonna give them?
Cheers Mat.
Your painting is amazing!  Great job with the shading.  I love these.  Hopefully I'll get to this level at some point.  Did you use a brush or airbrush on the pants?

Cheers!
Thank you all very much for your kind words. It will keep me painting and hopefully producing a good looking army..it will take time but at least it will look good :)
The paint is a little more ruff when you look close so i need to work with that.

The bases will be a mountain slate style base. Will make magnetic movement-trays later for the army.

I use brushes from all of my models apart from the basecoat that i spray.
Hi Guys,
Since last time i posted not a whole lot have happened but i have received and painted my bases mounted them to the bases and finished a third irongut. I have also inserted a magnet in the base of the model so i can magnetize the movement tray and make my life a whole lot easier.
Right now im painting up a butcher just to break up the tedious work of painting rand-and-fine ironguts.

Hera are some new picutres for you to look at. They became a little better since last time but some..not so much, haha. Enjoy and let me know what you think!
Cheers.

Even tho I'm not a fan of human skin tones, the way you've done it is really good the blending is so smooth good job'
Love the skin blending! My one complaint is that i want to see MOAR!
Great stuff keep it up :)

As already said, the skin is excellent and I really like the tone you have on the metal plates on the forearms. The gut plates work really well to. keep doing what your doing, great models.

Butcher update!
The model for my butcher is now ready.
You know the drill opinions and comments down below.
Im trying to finish one ogre a week, haha.

Nice job with these guys.  They look great!
So nice colors, blending together very smoothly. Your work is still very pleasant to watch indeed! The butcher is looking very good. The skin, pants, apron are especially getting my attention. These bigger areas are still so smooth and have good contrast. And white isn't the easiest color to paint. (I have heard)

I hope you can keep the model/week rate as I'd definitely like to see more of these fellas. ^^
