GnoBlog of the Month - JANUARY

Time for the gnoblog of the month January edition! During the last week of this month I will tally up the nominees and votes to see who wins. We could also try out a poll, and see if that works.

So as of now, Post your nominations of Gnoblog of the Month!

Thanks for taking the reigns on this Conogre....I shall be nominating my choice shortly, after reading some more of the excellent posts on the "live" Gnoblogs that have caught my eye this month.

I'm going to nominate Mudboy for his awesome conversions and ideas for his ogre army. I hope we see some more models and some painting before the month is up.

my nomination is for gnoblar herder. Really enjoy the gnoblog and the enthusiasm is much needed and a welcome part of the gnoblog community

Oh and that giant ironblaster is just so damn nice.

A quick suggestion, how about opening voting a bit later in the month.  Gives a bit more time for blog development, and so votes don't get chucked in before others have even started for the month.  Not that the recipients of votes already arent worthy.

Valid point, Im only taking nominations atm. Ill take actual votes via a poll or perhaps PM later I think. If it gets out of hand with nominees I will change, but the lasts months have only had 4 people nominated so we shall see how it goes.

Well there is some excellent stuff out there this month; loads to look at and lots of great painting and army builds, fluff etc
but my vote for this month has got to be Mudboy. Those body builder esq ogres made out of minotaur's are awesome and look even better painted. Decent number of posts on the Gnoblog and regular updates, so;
I'm voting Mudboy for January.

Its really strange that these competitions get so little traffic. This hasn't even got 200 views yet. and I made this at beginning of the month.

^ Agreed. I am not sure why; everyone with a Gnoblog is in with a chance of being Gnoblog of the month without actually having to do anything at all......

as this was originally your baby, then I am sure everyone will be happy for you to take the reigns again and organize it the way you see fit. I think the idea is great and would like to see it keep going.

I didn't intend to sound so ham-fisted and tyrannical about the way it should be run, haha! It's been a sterling effort, and much appreciated in my absence

Just to make it easier to quickly evaluate who is in the running, and to make voting a little easier, that's all

I am happy to leave it in capable hands, as was the eventual plan

Ha! Josh, I didn't mean to sound as if I was just saying "you sort it then!", that's not what I meant at all 

What I was trying to say was, if there is a better way of organizing this then please feel free to set it up that way. As various members of the community have already proven; there is no doubt we will try and carry it on, because in essence, it's a great idea. The two things that I see need to be sorted every month are;

Having the topic/ month pinned/ locked/ stickied or whatever it's called

an easier way of the winner being identified and that announcement posted up at the end of each month.

I was thinking that as a MOD, you should be able to do this...as apposed to us, who can't.

please don't take any offence, it certainly wasn't meant that way. Tyrannical? That's more for the gaming table than the forum, and I don't see you as a tyrant (of course that will be different if we ever meet on the tables bro'  )

If either of you want to count up current votes to see if I was incorrect, or make another thread and put links to all the nominees, please feel free. I'm sorry I don't have time for this at the moment, very busy

Based on my count it is a tie, both people. Mat and mud boy will receive gnoblars! I will send these out personally as I can only give out 1 per day it would seem.. I will wait a day and hopefully a mod sees this and can do that for me!
