Brainstorming help for Ironblaster conversion

original thread ↗

I just received an ironblaster as an early christmas present, which was a great gift.

The only problem is that the ironblaster is the one model that I have been drawing a blank on when planning my army's theme.

My army is the Law Offices of Ogre and Ogre.  My leadbelchers are process servers (barrels full of documents and briefcases).  My ogres are accountants, my ironguts are interns, my tyrant (in progress) is a judge.  Most of my guys are in shirts and ties (such as Pinky, my crusher and forum icon).  I have plans for all of my future casters and bruisers, and if I ever make a giant, he is going to be in a full suit with a giant briefcase as his weapon.

But I have no idea what to do for an ironblaster.  That said, I know there are a lot of very creative people here.

So, brainstorming!  Please help me out, and post ideas of what you think might be a good theme for my new ironblaster.

I will see if I can get some decent pictures posted tomorrow to help show off my theme a little bit.
It could shoot reams of paperwork, you could have one gnoblar shovelling paper into the back while another one sits on a typewriter preparing more ammunition, it could be how your lawfirm serves up papers.

I guess it depends on how creative you want to be.

When I read your theme, the first thing that came into my head was a court room, with the lecturn (type thing) that the accused stand in.

The idea that sprung into my mind would be to put the ogre firing the Ironblaster on the wooden box it comes with, but make it like a "stand" (as in on the stand; origin British) with wooden sides to it (like a pulpit in a church) then have a seated Ogre/ Giant/ Gnoblars holding up the cannon part (where the Rhinox should be) as if they were in court, but seated in front of the ogre firing the canon.

In this way it would look (a bit) like a courtroom with one "QC/ Lawyer" standing and some seated in front of him. I can't find a picture that demonstrates this idea, so sorry. But I hope you can conjure up the image.

It's just an idea anyway. If I come up with any more I will happily pass them on.

Actually, I found this which is not quite what I was thinking, but similar (ish). Here the Judge would be the Ironblaster firer, and the people below him the seated guys holding it up;

You could use a massive law book in place of the cannon balls for the 'throw the book at them' line

Why not use a skaven warpfire cannon (I think that's what it's called) frame and make the construction look like a gallows....but with a big cannon in it.
It could easily work...

Random thoughts for a law firm themed Ironblaster:

1) THE LONG ARM OF THE LAW:
Theme idea only.  You can run, but you can't hide.  How about an old school Keystone cops Ogre blowing the whistle and raising his "billy club" as he pursues the "jailbirds"

2) THE ANGRY PADDY WAGON:
Build a small prison cart to pull behind the iron blaster (you can always remove it when close combat starts). I picture it like the coal cart for an old school steam locomotive.  The "Law Breakers" are the ammunition for the Ironblaster.  Think goblin cannon balls.  You could also make a bunch of "ammunition" tied to the rig.  I'm thinking of that tied up Slayer from the Skull Pass set that was all mummified with just his head and feet sticking out of a bunch of rope.

3) THE SHREDDER:
The way your firm disposes of documents they don't want people to see.  You could have some Gnoblar 'interns" throwing/shoveling bails of paperwork into the cannon for "Proper Disposal", i.e. launching the incriminating items over the hill, or into the sea.

4) THE WATCHTOWER (on wheels of course).
Think of a prison tower with the spotlight and all of that.

5) THE COFFEE CART:
Every office dweller heads to the coffee house in the morning.  Suit, briefcase in one hand, coffee thermos in the other.  Ogres like to eat and drink in mass, so I could fully see them taking a drink of water from a firehose at 150psi to the face.   Being brutish ogres, I don't think that they would care if it was scalding coffee, so for them its a tasty beverage, but for an enemy is 3 degree burns all over.

Modeling wise you could do up the whole Starbucks theme with the green awning and apron with a barista at the controls, Gnoblars with the 1950's style paper hats like Krispy Kreme donuts.

Anyway, that's just my ramblings and musings.  I hope one of these may help to spark an idea.  Good luck and let us know how it goes
