They sit outside the normal %build and allies build but are still classed as desperate allies because of alliance

Ah, so they are a "unit/battle force" you can buy into your normal army?
The GW description is seriously flawed - I have looked around and I really have a hard time figuring out how they work :S
Thanks and very interesting!

Speculation from another site I follow suggests there will be more soon. Their reasoning is if you look at the bundles offered from gw with the scrolls. The one in question matches. So they believe that more VC scrolls soon. Fingers crossed. They have the crypt horrors one that would be cool from even just a model stand point. But also some fast inexpensive poison attacks could have their uses.

Holy crap, did my math fail or is GW finally releasing bundled miniatures at a discount?
PotentiallyLethal04 Dec 2013
Yup, all the bundles have decent discounts. I think Restless Dead is about £10

Gah, I was hoping for more silly characters, or a Dog of War unit. Oh well!
Ogres - because who honestly likes 2 wound heroes?
GutsofIron04 Dec 2013
Does anyone think these units could find a niche in our army? My brain is going crazy with fluff ideas... Like I need an excuse to buy and paint new models... Aha someone please tell me they have no place, our would have very little use, quick!
Sometimes you just have to say, to hell with complicated plots, deception, and trickery. And just smash the hell out of something.
Creatures of the Chaos Wastes contains 1 Warriors of Chaos Slaughterbrute/Mutalith Vortex Beast; 2 boxes of Warriors of Chaos Dragon Ogres; 1 box of Chaos Spawn; and 1 Warhammer Giant.

I see tons of uses for that VC formation in the OnG army... ALL of the VC units can take banners ; ) Flaming? No problem!... and they make go non-panic flankers that never runs away

Naftka, were I get a lot of rumors, has just released a mentioning that these scrolls or data slates in 40k are coming daily until xmas. To include the crypt horrors formation and chaos waste
Joakim05 Dec 2013
Just say warseer ; )
I dont know why people wont mention their source for rumors - they are all more of less from the same sources : P GW has the advent-calender thingy, mainly for 40k goodies though.

Yeah, a lot of love sent to 40k. But it is projected to have three formations for fantasy by x mas. What I just hope is that the downloads keep on coming.
Joakim05 Dec 2013
The format for e-readers is new to me (I know about the armybooks) and I am a bit conservatively skeptic to how it will work out playing with new people not familiar with certain 'formations' just added. It certainly creates a balancing issues if a few combinations are just too powerful although it doesnt seem so, so far.
Anyway, is there any people out there (/here) who bought the formation e-card? What is your impressions and when would you use the formation in a game?

I've bought the interactive iBook edition and it is set out well with all the rules needed for running the creatures in it without having to buy another Army book, one word of caution though I also bought the Storm Wing interactive version and it isn't as complete as the ebook version - will be seeing if I can get my money back on that one
When would I play it? Not sure really, suppose it could be a nice addition to a different flavour army of the same alignment, whack them in to support Tomb Kings?
They sit outside the FoC so are not a part of the percentage tally of your army, so add them give an edge your army doesn't already have

SPOILER ALERT: If you don't want to know what is in the advent calendar, stop reading now

I just want to say that English ain't my mother tongue, so it is far from perfect and I can just hope that you guys can understand me. And feel free to point out my spelling errors or major grammatical mistakes :]
