Monthly Painting Challenge - December 2013.

Oh it's already 11th.. time flies. Once I tried to do a challenge and failed it miserably. Let's try again.

- I will finish my giant conversion and paint it.
- I will convert/sculpt 3 gnoblar flappers and paint them.
- I will convert one more maneater.

First unit of Night Gobbo's finished...(30 with command) really sorry about the dire photo's, I have camera issues, none-the-less;

I love the blue on the icon and shields for the Night goblins.  My kids have just started their greenskin force so I've been on the prowl for a colour scheme.

Yeah I really like the blue as well, especially that moon banner

Jimmy / Conogre ; Thank you. I didn't want to go with the standard "yellow banner, red poles" scheme that I have seen allot of other Night Goblin armies in.

Because this army is going to be a "stand alone" army (i.e. no Orcs) I wanted them to be visually recognizable/ different. None-the-less it's still in its early stages.

@ jimmy, its all plastic kits and plastic card so its about the weight of two stormravens and a bit. Its the same size as a thunderhawk and is loosly built around that shape. called her the Thunderork

Update on my challenge, everything is built to the level where I can spray it, but it's cold and wet outside so may have to don the mask and spray in the loft... but the better half hates that

If I get that bit done, may add a bonus challenge of fixing my three drop pods

so ive freed myself up to paint up five warriors of chaos and a ork battle wagon, job done. now theres another ten warriors to paint up next. its been good to go threw my box of neglected models and get a few complited.

Furies are coming along nicely.  Quick dry brush of the wings before coming to work this morning.

Been working on some Orcs with my kids which has been fun! 

Well, I'm done bar my Chaos Dwarf test model. When that bad boy is done I can get on with some ogres.

I agree, the blue on the Night Goblins is excellent. It's a really nice 'moon lit' blue.

  The flocking on the spider is genius too! Very tempted to copy that. Just black flock?

@Randroid, Thank you. I wanted a theme that could run through this whole build, and I saw this blue on a Chaos Warrior army in WD and just loved it. When it came to starting my Night Goblin army, I remembered this theme and thought it would be idea for my Gobbo's.

@The Captain, ahh, the spider "fluffy bum". It's black static grass (is that the same as flock?). I had an absolute nightmare trying to find jet black Static grass as is happens. Everywhere I looked no one seemed to have it. I didn't even get it for the spiders TBH, I got the black static grass to add onto my Chaos Dwarf bases, but it does seem to have worked well on this spider.
Again being brutally honest, I think I must have seen it on someone else's models because I just had an automatic assumption it would work and I can't remember "thinking it up" myself. I constantly look at thousands of images of other peoples stuff and try and incorporate the best ideas into my own army. I like the way it turned out though, so thanks for the kind words.

I am pretty much done for this month now. Pictures of test CD will be up on my blog when I get a chance. Started proprietary work on a unit of "Chaos Dreadlock Ogre Bulls" for my next months challenge.
