Tokran heard the Gnoblar's approach long before the diminutive creature burst through the door to the Ogre's Yurt.
"Come to him! He wantses you! He wantses... URK!" the gnoblar's prattle was interrupted by Tokran's hand wrapping around his throat, as well as the majority of his upper body. The anger that Tokran felt at being summoned like a common slave was only slightly dimmed by the taste of the Gnoblar messenger as he stuff the wriggling creature into this mouth and crunched loudly through its thin bones.
With a grunt the Tyrant of the Whitetooth Clan pushed aside the two ogresses that he had taken to his bed and strapped on his Gutplate. As he dressed, curiosity began to work its way through the layers of his rage-choked brain. Even Chogg was not so arrogant as to summon him in the middle of the night without cause. The thoughts of what was on the mind of his tribe's cunning Slaughtermaster gave haste to the Tyrants steps.
Tokran used his bulk to batter his way into Chogg's Yurt, and bellowed "Tokran Facecrusher will not be fetched like a slave!"
The Slaughtermaster looked up from his cauldron, with a twisted smile on his face. Known as Chogg the Toothy, the Slaughtermaster was gifted with a set of long fang like teeth which gave his smile a particularly demonic appearance. He took a moment to appraise his Tyrant's visage, and realizing that he was not yet in danger said, "And yet here you are..."
Tokran bristled at the insult, and placed his hand upon his gutplate which was decorated with the teeth of those he had killed and eaten in challenged for leadership. "Do not test me Chogg, or have you decided it is time for your teeth to decorate my gut?"
Chogg shrugged, "No, great Tokran. I am not so foolish to wish such a thing."
"Then, what is it?"
"I have been given a vision. A great flying tower makes its way to the badlands. It is filled with wealth and power untold, and only touches ground once in a thousand years."
"And..."
"The Maw hungers for it."
"The Maw hungers for all things, Slaughtermaster, why is this tower so important?"
Chogg regarded his Tyrant closely, not sure if his question was a sign of thickheadedness common in the Ogres or if Tokran was testing him. "We have many foes, my Tyrant. These foes would seek to harness the secrets of this tower for their own purposes. How would we fair if, say the Skaven, were to claim such a weapon?"
Tokran's eyes narrowed. The Skaven had been a problem for the Whitetooth since their peace treaty with the Dwarfs went into effect. While Chogg made a good point, he could not ignore the fact that the Skaven problem became considerably worse due to Chogg's imput that the Maw wanted the Skaven punished for their effront. "I see. You are right. I would be a problem if ANY of my enemies were to claim this prize. The Whitetooth shall go to the Badlands."
"Excellent decision my Tyr..." Chogg began.
"And you my most Loyal Slaughtermaster, shall organize the defense of Ordu while I and Golgfag lead our expedition forces after this Floating Tower."
Chogg's face darkened with rage, "That is unacceptable!" he began, but was quickly cut off by Tokran again.
"I decide what is acceptable for the Whitetooth, not you, and if you need a reminder of that lesson I will be happy to provide one." Tokran growled menacingly, allow his hands to drop to the hammer and sword he carried on his belt.
Chogg narrowed his eyes, "No, great Facecrusher. I understand my place."
"Good, I will leave in the morning. Prepare a farewell feast." Tokran commanded as he left the Slaughtermaster's yurt.
Once he was alone, the look of anger fled from Chogg's face replaced by his twisted smile. He looked down into his cauldron which served as both a cooking pot and point of communion with their dark god. "It has begun, and he even believes that it is his idea..."
The cauldron bubbled in response sounding very similar to a wet, throaty chuckle.
