The Breakfast Club

original thread ↗

I will first post some pictures of my finished models. :)

Mawfette my tyrant:

She has a crushed skeleton guy on her base.

My bulls.
For the skin I used a turorial, which I found here in the stronghold. The flash made it look kind of bad though.
Here is a picture with a bit more natural lighting: Click

The banner guy:

And them holding the watchtower. :)
(Only picture I have of the units champ right now.)

My ironguts. Didn't paint those myself, but they are part of my tribe, so they belong here. :)

Same goes for my butcher. Got him painted like that.

My giant aka "Der Riese". Painted by myself again. He already served in my greenskins army, hence the different color rim of his base. Have to fix that sometime.  :groll:

And last my only four painted chaos gnoblars. They were originally painted as chaos goblins for a Realms of Chaos competition on papanurgle.com, hence the different basing. They are kind of the leaders of my mix of gnoblar count as minis (goblins, snotlings and varous creepy crawlies) right now.

Left on my todo list are:
Various Gnoblar count as minis (goblins, snotlings and varous creepy crawlies)
6 Sabretusks for which I use chaos hounds
6 bulls

And still a lot on my to buy list...  :groll:

Awesome models! I am particularly taken aback by the BSB and Tyrant! :) Brilliant models!

Your Tyrant; is that a conversion or a model from another manufacturer? :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Thanks :)

And my tyrant is the Frost Giant Princess from Reaper. Lovely model.
http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/frost%20giant/sku-down/03431

She is now also available in reapers weird rubber resin "bones" series for a lot cheaper.
Lacks details from the metal version, but is pretty much indestructible.
I still prefer metal for my character minis though. :)
Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
From the chaos wastes came another bunch of wandering mutated ogres to join the raiders of the Breakfast Club.  :>D

I wanted to include some more chaotic models into my army for a while now, but did not have any spare models to convert some.
So I went on ebay and found those guys, already nicely converted, but unpainted. Who ever did this: Have my thanks! And maybe you will even see this thread some day, recognize your old conversions and maybe be happy that they found a good home. I feed them regularly and see that they get enough exercise on the battlefield.  :D

There also was one odd, and already painted guy with them. And I am the person that can't repaint an already painted model, when I see that the original painter put at least some time effort and love into the model. So all I did with the guy was giving him a complete agrax wash, some blood on the weapons and armor and a few nifty tattos. :)

All my bulls will be one big horde and I intent to have many odd models in there, so he fits perfectly. Might mot be high class painted, but my other ogres aren't either. I just tend to put more effort into the characters.

Champ and bellower:

Spiky and "The Devil":

Banner (maybe new bsb for now until I make a proper one):

And the odd (not really painted by me) guy I mentioned at the beginning of my post:

My next game will be next week and I am working on my sabretusks (chaos hounds) right now, i.o. to field my ogre army completely painted.

Also there is a thundertusk at my local gaming store... waiting for me. Can't pick it up this month though, cause of Halloween expenses and everything.

And I might have to dig through ebay for a bunch of gnoblars or old night goblins, that I can convert with some chaos and spiky bits. :)

I've been meaning to ask, which one is Judd Nelson?
They're an interesting bunch, especially the new additions.
Just when I thought the pinnacle of this army was your superb "voodoo" style Tyrant, you show us these guys! I love the red skintone, very reminiscent of Hellboy, which is always a good thing! :) I rarely like Chaos-themed Ogres, but these are fantastic :)

None.
I just gave them the name cause ogres smash things with clubs and have them for breakfast.  :glol:
The name might actually change at some point, when I have found something more fluffy. :)

Thanks! Glad you like them. :)
I try not to go way over the top with the chaos theme. Mostly I just want to have some chaos ogres mixed in with the more normal ones, and just a few gimmicks here and there. Like using chaos hounds for sabretusks (cause I am not really fond of the derpi cats).

Also did anyone notice how my new bulls have different static grass on their bases, than my other ones?  :?
Well, I didn't until I looked at the pictures!

Hm, I guess I will just say that the grass became yellow and dead from the presence of chaos my new bulls radiate... or something.

But my giant also has dead grass under his feet (I used it in my old OnG army, where he comes from).  :?

Ah well... I might just add patches of dead grass to the greener bases at some point. Or just let them have different patches of grass. I guess an area of ground holding an ogre army, hasn't just one type of grass anyway. Have to see how it looks, when I field them all together next time. :)

Nice painting mate, well done.

And my Sabretusks/Chaos Hounds. I rushed them a bit (only did brushing and washing), cause I wanted to have them finished for the game next week. :)

Also decided to not use my chaos goblins as gnoblars, as the basing doesn't match at all. Will just get a bunch of gnoblars together with my thundertusk next month.

But finishing the hounds also means that at this point my whole army (around 1500 points) is painted and ready for battle!

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
So one day I was digging through the spare parts box at my lgs (actually the day I bought the first models for my ogre army) and suddenly held this guy in hands! Paid like 1€ for him.

He is NOT painted or converted by me, but I still want to show him to you guys. Just because I think he might be one of the most hilarious gorger conversions ever!

I am not sure, if I will actually use him. Maybe he will permanently sneak his way into the army, when I actually want to try out gorgers and will field him just for hilarities sake.

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
Hmmm... I can't actually bring myself to say that I don't like him... :| There's just something oddly endearing about him; perhaps it's the likeness to Freddy Krueger? :)

Now that you say it, he actually looks very similar.

Also finally finished my thundertusk.  :)

And I am working on a proper bsb at the moment. All build just needs some paint.  :>)

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
And my bsb.  :)
The banner is magnetised (At that little tube bit shortly above his hand) for transport convenience.

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
Just some Gnoblars I did a little rescue paintjob on. Mostly just basecolor & wash, cause there is 38 more if them waiting in the background of the picture.

Decided to paint the first twelve after my Gnoblar horde did particularly well in my last game against the empire.  :>)

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
And a shot of my complete army. Not the most fabulous, but I love every single one of my little fatties... and gnobies.

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
So I just got the old O&G rocklobber on ebay for 5€.   8)
Cause it was sold by a person who normally only does boardgame pieces and didn't know what it really was .

Remember boys and girls: Searching for things like "Figure Game Fantasy toy" on ebay can reveal great treasures!

Sooo... I guess I will be building a scraplauncher soon, which also finally gives a job to Phill, my Plaguetoad.
He will be taking the place of the rhinox, pulling the scrappy around on chains.  :)

Originally I wanted to use him as a gorger, but his base is too big, so he just sat around in my showcase for several month.

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
The BSB looks great! But I must ask... How did you get that red skin? I tried many different methods to no avail before finally giving up on such a prospect!

Cheers,
Bonegut

Me and my gnoblars... jeez, look at 'em all!

Lets see...
I primed it black, than used a solid layer of Scarlet Red (Game Color), then a heavy Agrax Earthshade wash, then highlights with Scarlet Red -> Blood Red (also game Color).
And in the end I did a bit of blending with a mix of scarlet and blood red.

It was pretty roughly executed to be honest.

Hope I could help a bit.  :>)

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
So my gnoblars made a "good deal" with some nightgoblins. Got a "totally save and rarely used" (also totally not stolen) rocklobber for only half a slaughtered rhinox.  :gnoblar2: :gnoblar3: :gnoblar4:

It will be pulled into battle by Phil the plague toad, which the ogres captured in the chaos wastes and managed to tame (a bit).

Finished painting the thing today.
Just imagine a proper base, some more chains, more gnoblars and a weight on the lobber and you get a picture of what it will look like, when it's all complete.   :>)

Battles with my ogres: 11 | vs Empire: 3 | vs O&G: 1 | vs DoC: 2 | vs DE: 1 | vs WoC: 1 | vs Skaven: 3 | vs WE: 2
Way to go Phil!
